13Jennifer Lawrence Would Rather Look Chubby On-Screen

So Jennifer Lawrence did an interview with Marie Claire South Africa where she talked about body image (because duh, fatty) and what her social life is like (hint: limited). There’s not much else to say about this girl, because she’s probably the most wonderful female celebrity to ever have existed, so I’ll let her take it on over from here.

Here’s Jennifer on her New Year’s resolution:

My New Year’s Resolution is to stand up for myself. It’s hard for me. Nobody wants to be disliked. You always want to be polite and be nice. I tried to find a balance in saying what I mean and still being nice. I can’t do it. I have this ‘okay’ attitude and everything. I end up allowing myself to get walked over and resenting it.

Jennifer on going out:

I don’t like going out that much. I’m kind of an old lady. After it’s 11, I’m like ‘Don’t these kids ever get tired?’ When I’m out, I think about my couch.

And last, Jennifer on her awesome body image:

I’d rather look chubby on screen and like a person in real life.

Honestly, this lady just doesn’t get any more darling.

On a related note, how do you guys feel about New Year’s resolutions? Are you making any? I never make them, because I’m not really good at that whole “lifestyle change” thing that sometimes has to accompany New Year’s resolutions, but I admire those who do, and those who can stick to them. All I know is that this past year has been a pretty phenomenal year, and if 2012 is any indication of what’s to come in 2013, well. There’s going to be surprises around every fricking corner, guys.

What’s your resolution, if you happen to be making one?

    i wish she’d shut up

    • meh says:

Agreed. Shut up about your fucking body and weight and just act already.

      • mireee says:

My guess is that she keeps on getting questions about her weight, sort of like Jennifer Aniston still gets asked about Brad Pitt, but she still doesn’t have the experience or the attitude to refuse to answer them. And I think she’s acted enough? Like Silver Linings Playbook was a dud but she was amazing, made Bradley Cooper look like amateur hour.

      • meh says:

You’re probably right about her getting asked those questions but all I know about the chick is that she talks about her body all the time. I wish she’d be like “yeah I have a body…so anyways, I was listening to this really great band last night…”. Just something else.

  2. mcmiller says:

I can’t believe this chick is as young, talented and famous as she is and she’s this insightful and has the personality that she has. If I was her at that age with the fame and whatnot, I would have been a total asshole. I love her.

  3. RogueNYC says:

I hate this fat ugly bitch

  4. momster says:

Best cheekbones ever. She’s the real deal – everyone should shut and let her act.

    • I’m with Meh on this one. I wish more celebrities talked about interesting stuff and take charge of the interviews instead of perpetuating the super boring and superficial culture of good looks and expensive possessions.

My resolution is very, very similar to hers, it’s actually eerie to read this. I want to say and do exactly what I mean in 2013, and stand up for what I believe regardless of the risk of displeasing people. Kudos, Jennifer!

  5. Pique says:

nice title… why all the photoshop marie claire?

  6. KatiePie says:

    I’ve always liked her

  7. mcmiller says:

I think she’s asked the questions; I hardly doubt she’s navigating the interview.

The fact that she comes off sane, secure and healthy about her body–well, I think that should be blasted in these celebrity and fashion magazines. First off, more healthy women need to be heard. Secondly, celebrity and fashion magazines discuss these things…the social, trivial (health isn’t trivial, but our obsessions with our bodies…well…) aspects of life. She’s merely keeping in line with what many of those readers go reading for.

  8. Jules says:

Absolutely love her…..and damn, Jennifer Lawrence kicked ass in Silver Linings Playbook. Oh, I second the kind words regarding Lawrence’s cheekbones, Jennifer is certainly lovely.
