I think the bottom line here is that even though Miley clearly loves dogs, she doesn't know much about them at all. She gets a new dog every few months (how many in 2012 alone?) that means she gets a new pet before the other even has a chance to settle in and Miley doesn't have the chance to learn about the dog's behavior and habits. Mistakes like that are what cause accidents like the one you see here. Additionally, she adopts very young dogs for the most part and all of her current dogs are 2 years or less. This likely means that non of her dogs are fully matured and generally you see problems with dogs "suddenly" becoming more dominant or aggressive with one another when they reach maturity. Much like young teens becoming more hostile when they hit puberty, dogs do the same thing and it isn't until they are 2-3 (and for some breeds it takes longer) that the dog is mature. She'll probably continue to see problems like this until she stops being so impulsive and takes the time to really connect with her dogs and evaluate if adding another pet is good for the whole "family" instead of just something that will make her feel good in the short run.

That's a very sad story :~(
It brought me back to when I was in hospital having my first child, one of my beloved dogs got out and bit a child on the street. Before I came home from hospital my lovely black lab Fluke had been put to sleep, the police had been involved and with him biting a child, and me bringing home a new baby, it was out of my hands. I never got to say goodbye but I will never forget him, so I know how you feel.

Women are cheating all over the place, nowadays! (Leann Rimes/Cibrian, Coco/IceT, Kristen Stewart, Suzy Favor Hamilton the Olympian & Vegas call girl, Rita Ora/Rob Kardashian, Petraeus women).

My latest book, "I Steal Wives: A serial adulterer reveals the REAL reasons more and more 'happily married' women are cheating" is a powerful look at this EXPLOSIVE topic of female infidelity. And the REAL reasons aren't the typical blather you hear on talk-TV or read in the SECOND-HAND information of some psychologist's self-help book. It’s now in the top 1% of books selling on Amazon!

The book is the FIRST BOOK EVER WRITTEN on female infidelity from the FIRST-HAND, insider experience of a serial adulterer, who cheated with the wives/girlfriends of over 25 married men (and a few women), and who also happens to be a therapist (never cheated with clients)! "I Steal Wives" is a salacious, self-deprecating, at times funny, and penetratingly insightful look into what is now the very cutting-edge of relationships.

It's the relationship version of "How to Secure Your House, as told by a professional burglar!" This is no joke, the raw truths of “I Steal Wives” will forever change how you do relationships and understand women, especially if you are one!

Check it out now at Amazon and Barnes and Noble!! It's selling FAST!

When I was in college (UCB), one day a dog started following me around and waiting for me outside every class. Turns out she was after the chicken salad in my backpack. I ended up taking her home. She was a wolf mix and I named her Heike.

Fast forward about 15 years. She got pneumonia twice in one winter, and never quite regained her energy. She spent a lot of time in the house, but I still put her out in the garage when we left for awhile. One summer afternoon she was laying in the hallway and when I told her she had to go to the garage she didn't get up. I took her by the collar and she SNAPPED at me.

My mom was visiting at the time, and the incident really freaked her out, especially since my son was 3yo at the time. It's not something I would have made a big deal of since living with her had always meant having my dominance challenged (not that she had ever snapped at me before). But my mom finally made me see that Heike had to go. I tried and tried to figure out how to make things work (could she be trained? probably not. And even if she had been, could I have ever felt like my son was safe near her? No.). I had to take her to the vet and have her put to sleep. Even the vet felt it was the best choice. But I still feel terrible about it ten years later.

I have always thought Miley was kind of a dipshit, but I've never doubted her true love for dogs. I really feel for what she went through.

The fact is we don't know how dogs think, all we do know is that their is a heirarchy, with Alphas etc. It could well be that the top dog in the pack saw this little twerp who was probably way down the pecking order, as having priveleges beyond their ranking & decided to take her down. It would all make sense to the top dog involved. I once saw this thing on tv about these monkeys who lived somewhere with a lot of snow, but there were these thermal pools, and only the high-ranking female and her offspring were allowed luxuriate in these while the 'peasant' monkeys were literally freezing their paws off six inches away

I do find it odd that people are always so eager to put down people for the way they care for and raise their pets. If you allow your dog or cat to produce offspring.. Holy Shit! You'd think you were Hitler! And if someone has more than one or two pets, than you're considered a hoarder, or it's your own fault when something happens between the pets. People seem to forget that a lot of people see their pets as children. And not, like, someone can't have a child so they develop a mental disorder and start collecting pets to fill a whole. No, I'm talking about, people (like myself) straight up feel the same responsibility and love towards and animal as they do a human child.

I know this will sound outrageously stupid to some people, but these really are similar topics. What is the difference between a person having four dogs, and a person having four children? Apparently, people who have four dogs are somehow responsible for what happens to their pets if they don't get along, or if there are behavior issues, because they shouldn't have so many animals. But, if a person has four children, and one of them has many bad behaviors toward a sibling, it's because something is wrong with the child? It's pretty much the same damn thing.

Be thankful Miley is a responsible enough person to care for that many animals. You definitely can't say the same for most individuals her age. What happened is absolutely awful! I have four of my own dogs, all large. I have the utmost respect and sympathy for her because of her situation. Honestly, when you see animals the way her and I do, they really are your children. Have respect for someone that's going through something so traumatic.
