Drew Barrymore is So, So Lovely

As you guys can see, Drew did a sit-down with Allure, and in the interview, she talked about a bunch of relevant stuff, including the period in her life where she was showing everyone her tits (you know, like David Letterman) and doing drugs and basically being all like Lindsay Lohan (except with true, genuine talent that didn’t dry up as soon as she got all alcohol-wet), and still, after all these years, she’s still so down to earth and likable.

From Allure, Drew Barrymore on posing for Playboy back in 1995:

“It’s embarrassing to go through any rebellious stage in front of people that you love and respect, and yet I’m glad I did. I’m glad I lived such a full life before I settled down into a family, because I got to enjoy it and get it out of my system.”

On her marriage:

“We have opposite experiences, but we’re not opposites. We’re both very particular and detail oriented. We love art and music and adventures, and we laugh our asses off together. He’s my home now…. It makes me almost want to cry. He’s the father of my child, and I’m the mother of his child. I’m finally a part of a family, and it’s a miracle.”

And finally, on not being afraid to do new things in her career:

“I will always commit. It’s like [my new] makeup line: I can tell you every single detail about how and why we got here. I want to be that kind of mother. I’m that kind of friend. I’m that kind of producer. I do everything in this life-or-death way.”

See? So darn likable. And sweet, too. Oh, hey—maybe that’s what Lindsay needs. Maybe Lindsay needs a man or a woman to call her “home” and a baby, to boot. Babies and dogs fix everything, right Kristen Stewart?

Love you, Drew!

  • Man, I love her too! She seems so grounded. I love that she hasn’t done anything to her face either. Drew Barrymore is a million times more beautiful and talented than Lindsay Lohan. Love this actress!

  • I’ve never thought she was a particularly great actress…she seems to play the same character is most of the movies she’s in, plus her movies are rarely the kind I find interesting, but she’s just so damn likeable. And she hasn’t seemed to age at all in the last 10 years. Vampire.
