Let’s All Love Amanda Seyfried Now

A photo of Amanda Seyfried

Oh my goodness. I was going to open this whole thing up by pronouncing my undying love for Amanda Seyfried, but I can’t, because that dress. That dress is so, so amazing. I think I’m so blown away because it’s something that Taylor Swift would wear, but I hate Taylor Swift*, so it feels good that a celebrity I love is wearing a dress that cute. Does that make sense? LOOK AT THE DRESS.

But yeah, guys, I really do love this girl. I think she’s so weirdly endearing, and obviously she’s adorable as hell. I am kind of nervous about her role in Les Miserables though: she plays Cosette, that silly bitch, and I don’t want to roll my eyes at Amanda Seyfried because of Cosette’s stupid self.

ANYWAY. Sarah showed you guys a quote from this interview, remember? It was the one about how everyone in the world wants to have sex with Channing Tatum (Sarah disagreed, so did I, and so did a bunch of you guys). But I thought she had some more interesting things to say, so let’s check it out.

From InStyle via Celebitchy:

On relationships: “I’m just more attracted to actors. I like their choice to be artists–that’s ballsy. And a guy who has such access to his emotional life is sexy… Maybe I’m so attracted to actors because I’m not ready for the ‘settled down’ thing yet. The thing is, I can’t date anybody without it being portrayed as a serious relationship in the tabloids. It sucks! Like Josh Hartnett and I were friends; we hung out, we dated. I don’t actually have sex with every male I come into contact with,” she says.

On Anne Hathaway cutting her hair for Les Mis: “I would have done that for sure. I probably wouldn’t lose or gain weight for a role, though. I’m too health-conscious. And I don’t think I could actually lose weight because I couldn’t be on that kind of a diet. I would lose my mind.”

On her Linda Lovelace movie: “It’s not about my body. It’s not about me,” she says of doing nude scenes. “You’re playing somebody else. You’re not going to believe a love scene if the people are dressed. You’re not going to believe a stripper who has on a bra and underwear the whole time. At the same time, it has to do with how comfortable you are with letting people see your skin. For me, I’m okay with it.”

On her OCD: “I have to do lots of things at the same time. It’s an obsessive-compulsive thing,” says Seyfried, who takes Lexapro to control her OCD. (Example: When she’s on the elliptical machine at the gym, she’s also knitting, playing Soduku, and listening to music. “I don’t feel like I’m struggling with it. I think OCD is a part of me that protects me. It’s also the part of me that I use in my job, in a positive way. The only thing I’d like to get beyond is my fear of driving over bridges and through tunnels. I can’t overcome it.”

See, wasn’t that interesting? Maybe I think it’s interesting because I was recently diagnosed with OCD, and I haven’t been able to find any meds that help yet. I also think it’s weird that she says she doesn’t feel like she’s struggling with it and that she uses it in her job in a positive way. I really don’t get that, because mostly I just feel that if I don’t do certain things, everyone will die and it will all be my fault. Essentially, you know. But maybe that’s what medicated OCD feels like.

Either way, I love her.

*Do you know what happened on Facebook today? One of my friends admitted that he kind of liked Taylor Swift, then one of his friends compared Taylor Swift to David Bowie. No, in real life. So I had to write a lengthy essay, natch, explaining why this was the least true thing that anyone has ever said. If we’re friends on Facebook, you can check it out for truth. If we’re not friends on Facebook, why do you hate me?
