I don’t care how this book affects either parent(but why would anybody sane or not, write down in a journal bad stuff they do and let someone else read it?)the kids are now at an age where classmates are going to taunt them about all this crap they read on the internet and see in the tabloids. This writer is just out to make a buck. Why make the kids suffer anymore, they’ve paid their dues.

I’m not anti-spanking and wouldn’t clutch my pearls at the sight of a parent swatting the ass of a toddler when they’re being a brat but that said, I think spanking is less of a “disciplinary technique” and more of a “I’m so pissed off right now and I’m going to release that anger by hitting something”. Case in point, hitting a kid with a wooden spoon? Giving it a NAME so you can use it as a threat and make your children fearful? That has nothing to do with disciplining your kid, that has to do with that cunt having no control over her anger and taking it out on little ones.

I get what you’re saying, and agree that pretty much everything Kate does is excessive and over-the-top, which is why this wouldn’t surprise me at all, but I just don’t think anyone should be laying their hands on anyone, whether it’s parent-child, child-child, peer-peer, etc., and it all starts at home.
