RIP, Michael Clarke Duncan

A photo of Michael Clarke Duncan

Michael Clarke Duncan, the guy you might know from the most heartbreaking movie of all time, The Green Mile, had a heart attack on July 13th. It was serious, but his girlfriend was able to resuscitate him by giving him CPR. Even though Michael remained in the hospital, it looked like he was going to make a full recovery.

Sadly, that didn’t happen, and he passed away yesterday morning. Here’s the report that TMZ posted last night:

Michael Clarke Duncan, star of such movies as “The Green Mile” and “The Whole Nine Yards,” passed away this morning. He was 54.

According to our sources, his passing came very suddenly. We’re told his fiancee, Omarosa Manigault, was with him in his hospital room in Los Angeles and left for a short period of time. When she returned … he had died.

Our sources say Omarosa’s mother was with him when he passed.

Duncan’s rep tells TMZ the actor never fully recovered from the myocardial infarction he suffered on July 13. As TMZ first reported, Omarosa found Duncan in cardiac arrest and performed CPR and was able to resuscitate him before calling 911.

The rep tells us, “[Omarosa] Manigault is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time. Celebrations of his life, both private and public, will be announced at a later date.”

Duncan was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of John Coffey in “The Green Mile.” He worked as a bodyguard for celebrities like Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Jamie Foxx, LL Cool J, and Notorious B.I.G. before he got his break.

And just in case you wanted an extra sad, we are now learning that Michael and his girlfriend, Omarosa, were planning to get married in January.

Let’s all just keep Omarosa and Michael and his family and everyone in the world who happens to be going through sad, awful things in our thoughts today, all right? But whatever you do, please don’t think it’s a good idea to watch The Green Mile tonight. Your heart can’t take it, no matter how much ice cream you have. Promise.

  • That movie always makes me cry.
He was such a sweety in interviews. I loved it when he went on the Craig Ferguson show when they were in Scotland.

  • I literally just finished watching the Green Mile yesterday for the first time ever, two hours later I found out he had passed away. My boyfriend and I were sobbing at the end of the movie, definitely wouldn’t recommend watching it now.

  • That sucks, and not because I didn’t have him in my dead pool this year. Great actor, seemed like a good guy. The article mentioned his fiancé, Omarosa. Am I right in my assumption she is THE Omarosa, the sniveling, moody hag from The Apprentice? If thats true I have some very definite thoughts on why he died, but I will let this opportunity pass out of respect forMichael…..

    • Yes, THAT Omarosa. She was the one who SAVED HIS LIFE after his heart attack by performing CPR on him for five minutes, so shut up because you don’t know shit. Yes, she was a bitch and even though I never liked her, they were obviously in love.

      • Nice try ya twat-tard, I’m not taking the bait. I’m glad she performed CPR, I’ve also no doubt it helped. My thoughts however, were completely unrelated as to whether or not Omarosa performed CPR. Unless you are a mindreader, you’ve NO clue as to what I was thinking. So, in this instance, it would seem that YOU are the one who doesn’t know shit!!

      • I’m CAS? I like that. :)
        I don’t think you’re an asshole.

I liked him too. He was so sweet in interviews.

  • I watched Green Mile with a male friend and at the end he avoided all eye contact with me and could only mutter “No movie should make a grown man feel like that.”

no way in heck I could watch that movie right now.

  • Deepest condolences to the Duncan Family and his fiance. Mr. Duncan was a brilliant actor and a shining star. His smile was infectious. My heart goes out to your family and fiance.. So very sad and gone so soon. You will be missed. Deepest sympathies. Now you are with the Lord. May the Lord greet you at heavens gates, rest in peace…What a kind and gentle soul…

Omorosa love never dies, it does live on! even after losing a loved one. I know this from experience. My father died in his sleep as his heart stopped and it was unexpected, nothing I could have imagined, It never dies and they watch over us from beyond!

I empathize with his family and loved one! GOD BLESS

    GOD BLESS you.

  • Judging others and the color of hatred…

“it’s not that blacks are bad”
“There are quite a few, well, not quite a few, but a sizable number of nonwhites who are intelligent”

I’m is a racist. I believes whites are the “chosen people” – that all nonwhite races should live in their own territories, away from whites.
God loves all people the same. In Acts 10:34-48
Peter challenges the people of his day to see others from God’s perspective and lay aside their prejudices.

  • This happened few times. Then the whole thing was taken back to heaven.

    “Followers of Christ”

God is Good He loves you all as brothers and Sisters in
Holy Spirit had been given even to those who were not Jews.

Sam says: what is the cure for prejudice?

Think about the ways the person is different from what you had expected.

God is Blessing as RIP, Michael Clarke Duncan

  • “I saw a sign language vision say to me, Get up, Sam go Kill and eat so I said, “No, Lord! I have never eaten anything that is unholy or unclean!
But the sign language from heaven tell me again, “God has made these things clean, so do not touch them unholy”

I do not have prejudices toward so I ask
god to remove any prejudices court if they may have.

getting to know someone I have prejudged about hearing or sign language so think about the ways the person is different from
    what you had expected?
