From People:

Wylie and members of the group ADAPT were urging Congress not to cut Medicaid. The protesters were handcuffed in the rotunda of the Cannon House Office Building, according to the Associated Press.

ADAPT maintains that cuts in Medicaid would force elderly people and those with disabilities out of their homes and into nursing homes to get services they require.

You guys know that we haven’t talked about Noah Wyle on this site since 2008? Almost four years ago? And it was the only time his name has ever been mentioned here? What a shame. A shameful, shaming shame.

And here he is, four years later, looking hot, doing noble things like speaking up for those who have no voices. As you read in the excerpt from People, Noah was at the Capitol protesting possible cuts to Medicaid, a program for elderly and low-income individuals that often provide health insurance, cash assistance, and food stamps to those in need, and I think it’s a pretty awesome cause to stand up for. Yeah, yeah, I realize that there are people out there who—gasp!—take advantage of the system and live off of welfare for decades and decades when they really don’t need to, but there are people out there who legitimately need the assistance here in order to survive day to day. Why would you want to take that away from them, and others who need it, like the elderly, when it’s just a few rotten apples that try to spoil the barrel? Come on now.

Let’s get down to brass tacks, here, though, and talk about something that really matters to the site—isn’t he so, so beautiful?

  • Medicaid is strictly health insurance. All of that other stuff is other programs. And Medicaid is income based (unlike Medicare.)

    • Sure, no doubt. They all definitely go hand-in-hand, though, for the most part. The cutoff lines are really close.
