Kristen Stewart Vs. Jennifer Lawrence

A photo of Kristen Stewart and Jennifer Lawrence

Wow, what a contest, right? Kristen Stewart and Jennifer Lawrence. LOL, I’m just kidding, you guys, it’s not a contest at all, at least not for me. Jennifer Lawrence has such a lovely attitude, and such wonderful talent! I went to see Hunger Games again this past week, and I also watched Winter’s Bone, which was amazing. Jennifer Lawrence is just so refreshing in this world full of Lindsay Lohans and Rihannas and Katy Perrys, and I absolutely love her. Oh, and, uh, Kristen Stewart looks bored most of the time, and she’s not that great an actor. Such competition!

But really, since Jennifer and Kristen are stars of the biggest franchises going right now, and since they’re both the same age, and since they both have vaginas, there’s a good chance that they could be competing for some of the same roles. And apparently Kristen Stewart is so not pumped for that.

From The National Enquirer via Celebitchy:

Kristen Stewart has turned into a green-eyed monster over up-and-coming superstar Jennifer Lawrence, who is wowing audiences in The Hunger Games. Insiders say Kristen, 22, is terrified that she and Jennifer, 21, will be vying for the same roles – and that Jennifer will win!

“The Hunger Games is now the talk of Hollywood and it’s predicted to do even better at the box office than the megahit Twilight series,” said the source. “Worse still, Jennifer is getting critical acclaim for her acting talents, which no one has ever given Kristen.”

In fact, Jennifer was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar last year for Winter’s Bone, while Kristen has yet to be recognized by the Academy for her work.

“Kristen is nervous about going head-to-head with Jennifer for roles,” the source continued. “Kristen doesn’t consider herself a natural beauty, and she knows Hollywood is so fickle that it’s always the pretty girl who wins the big parts. Jennifer has the best of both – talent and looks – which has Kristen fretting for her future.”

Kristen’s new film, Snow White and the Huntsman, is due to be released in June. “Kristen is desperate for it to do well, but she’s very insecure,” added the source. “She’s dreading the possibility that Jennifer could wind up her career nemesis.”

Isn’t that weird, that Kristen Stewart has never gotten any critical acclaim for her acting? Wouldn’t it make sense that if you didn’t get that critical acclaim, that you’d stop getting work so that good actors could get more work? Oh, if only Hollywood worked that way. Then I could be completely excited about Snow White and the Huntsman without having to roll my eyes over Kristen Stewart biting her lip all the way through it. Because she’s not a good actor. Look, I know that Twilight wasn’t the best material to work with, but she could have done better, so I don’t want to hear that apologist claptrap. Don’t make excuses. She’s a bad actor. That’s all.

But here’s something interesting: how do you think Jennifer Lawrence will do at the Oscars next year? Do you think Hunger Games could pull in some awards?

  • “Then I could be completely excited about Snow White and the Huntsman without having to roll my eyes over Kristen Stewart biting her lip all the way through it.”

Couldn’t stop laughing for a while after reading the “biting her lip” thing. This would SO be Kristen’s style XD

  • “not that great an actress” is putting it kindly! I agree with you on every level. Jennifer is beautiful and an amazing actress while kristen stewart is neither; and to top it off Jennifer has a great personality! So I think we can all agree Kristen should QUIT ACTING because my dog could’ve made a better bella swan

  • You guys, it’s really hard being famous and well paid for doing something you love doing! Are you saying she’s supposed to be good at it too?! Isn’t it hard enough to have adoring fans and the unearned advantages of fame? Have a heart, it’s super scary being 22 and realizing you may have to work harder in life than you thought. I’m team vacant eyes all the way! This is sarcasm by the way.

  • i love kristen stewart. why? simply for the fact she clearly doesn’t give a fuck and has way more money than i will ever have. so really, i can’t hate on the bitch.

  • Jennifer is so sweet and fun in interviews, and so unaffected.

Not only can’t Kristen act (DAMN that Twilight movie is bad), but she’s just an asshole.

  • I think the real shocker here is how Hollywood loves to create false dramas between female stars to further a misogynistic agenda.
Notice how articles like this are only created about female stars, and never men. Please don’t buy into this load of bullshit.

  • I don’t think The Hunger Games will get any major award. Perhaps something for costuming, but nothing for acting or directing. The Academy Awards are pretty snobby in that sense, none of the Harry Potter sequels got ever an Oscar. Five of the eight films have been nominated, but they never won. I do think Jennifer Lawrence should be nominated but she won’t be, and I also think Gary Ross, the director, should be nominated. However, I also think the Academy will never give any big awards to big film franchises (there will always be a snottiness towards them, considering them not artistic enough), especially directed towards young people, and most especially, female-led.

    • You could technically say that Lord of the Rings was a huge franchise, and look how Return of the King did (won 11 Oscars). So I feel like if Hunger Games were to ever actually win anything (probably not anything like Best Actor/Director/Actress/Film) it wouldn’t be until Mockingjay came out. If it were to win anything at all.

      • I see you, but LOTR isn’t YA fiction though, so it doesn’t technically play in the same league.

  • okay, maybe Jennifer is a better actress than Kristen, but Kristen isn’t bad, and Jennifer isn’t great, I agree that Jennifer is a better actress, but you can certainly agree that she is prettier, Kristen is 100 times prettier, delicate, Kristen look awesome.!! I love her look and style

    • Kristen is a terrible actress. Even if you watch anything other than Twilight she’s stiff as a board with dead eyes and no emotion. She’s one of the worst in Hollywood right now, by far.

  • I agree with mireee, I don’t think it will get a nom. Harry Potter never did, and it wasn’t until the very last Lord of the Rings that it had a serious chance at an Oscar. I just don’t think they like to pay that much attentiont to any franchise.

I’m bummed she’s in that Snow White movie too, because the rest of the movie actually looks really cool.

    • Seriously though, was ANY Harry Potter movie worthy of a nomination? I’m a HP fan and I don’t think they were worth of a nomination. Lord of the Rings was an amazing series of movies visually and told an epic tale but there was so much going on that it was hard to really identify with the struggles of just one character. I personally think movie series, where the story is intended to span several releases, should not be elibible for nominations as individual titles but only as a whole which is why LOTR wasn’t nominated until the conclusion.

      • 1. Oh no, HP wasn’t worthy of awards, but then again not that long ago we gave Titanic 11 Oscars and if you watch it again, well, cheesy cringe. 2. LOTR was aimed at a different audience — it had a more mature feel. The Hunger Games, no matter how good it is, has a much younger intended target (not real though!) than LOTR, so I don’t think they can be compared.

  • I’ve never seen anything either of them have been in, so I can’t comment on the acting skills. But I must say that I’ve seen pictures of Lawrence without the “award show makeup” bit and she kind of looks like an extra from The Hills Have Eyes. I think Stewart is actually kind of pretty, if not a bit bland.

  • I think Alan Rickman could have been nominated for best supporting actor in one of the Harry Potter films.

  • I just finished reading a new Kristen Stewart interview in some magazine; and she just swears all the way through it. Mostly the word f***…..
And I can’t get over how bad an actress she is. Shaking your head, putting on an awkward expression all the time and biting your lip does not count as good acting skills. And she has this ‘badass’ attitude that makes me want to slap her across the face- because she tries to be someone she’s not. Unlike Emma Watson and Jennifer Lawrence, Kristen walks and talks like she’s the President. Judging by her roles, she’s not a very versatile actress. And don’t even get me started on her emotional range.

Jennifer, on the other hand, was amazing in The Hunger Games. Oscar worthy. And even though she’s not the prettiest of them all, she deserves all that ‘critical acclaim.’
She’s funny, down to earth and ridiculously talented. What’s not to love?

Twilight will pass, but Harry Potter and The Hunger Games will ALWAYS be there. I’ll be remembering them, anyway.

  • Kristen Stewart all the way. She so beautiful even without makeup.I don’t care about her personal life I just love everything about her. She is so amazing and different from others young actress. She is still the best!
