What Is Kristen Stewart Afraid Of?

Come on, let’s really think about this. What things could Kristen Stewart possibly have to be afraid of? Storms, maybe? I don’t know, bad storms scare the hell out of me, but Kristen doesn’t strike me as that type. Losing Robert Pattinson? No, that’s never going to happen. Showing emotion? We might be on to something with that one.

But no. Kristen Stewart has stepped up to tell us that one of the things she’s really afraid of is horses. Really, horses.

From People:

“I got to jump off cliffs and ride horses, and that terrifies me,” Stewart said Saturday during a WonderCon panel for the film. “I was really, really not happy about having to do all that [horseback riding]. I don’t like that – I hate that.”

The actress has been wary of horses – “I hate ’em,” said the star, who suffered a riding injury as a child. “I fell off a horse once and hurt myself really badly,” she added. “I broke and dislocated my elbow when I was, like, nine.”

But Stewart put aside her fears for the film, a re-envisioning of the classic fairy tale in which the title character is more warrior than damsel in distress. “I just had to not think about it,” Stewart said. “I wanted so badly to do this that it was just like, ‘Alright, well, if I perish by horse, that’s all good.'”

To be fair, which is really hard for me when it comes to this girl, I think her fear is silly because I had a pretty different experience with horses when I was a kid. My grandmother always had horses, and I always wanted to pet them and brush them and ride them, but my mother never let me go near them because when she was a kid, one of the horses bit her square on the boob. The first time I got to ride a horse was when I was 17 and working at a summer camp, and no, my mom didn’t know anything about it. I absolutely loved it, and now I’ll grab any chance I can get to interact with horses. So I can see where Kristen is coming from, but really she can just stay over there.

But wait! This story isn’t just about Kristen talking about horses! It’s also about Kristen repeatedly referring to herself as “badass.”

“I’ve always wanted to do a f– badass action movie because they’re cool,” Stewart explained. “The reason I’ve never really been able to do things that are just thoughtlessly badass and strong and whatever is always because it doesn’t make sense. This just made so much sense.”

She added, “My favorite thing about [Snow White] is that she’s endowed with so much and there’s so much inside her. It’s like she’s brimming. She doesn’t always necessarily know why. I can – in so many different parts of my life – relate to that and love that about her. So it was cool to have that all behind kicking the s–t out of someone.”

Again, to be fair (what is happening to me and why am I being so fair to Kristen Stewart?), she does look pretty badass in this movie. Have you seen the new trailer?

Oh, it looks like it’s actually mostly Charlize Theron being badass, doesn’t it? Well, you can’t win them all, I suppose.

  • Holy crap. Kristen’s accent was better than Charlize Theron’s. I think it might be the end of the world…

  • Nah I see where she’s coming from. Imagine falling off a horse aged 9. That big thing dropping you, and hurting yourself really bad. And all those people with big back spinal injuries. I think horses are beautiful but riding them can be scary.

  • She’s clearly afraid of wearing a t-shirt without knotting it off at the side, I can tell you that! It seems to be a little fashion quirk of hers I have noticed for about three freaking years now. I have no idea why that little knot bothers me so much, but I have intense hatred for the thing. Not her, just that f-in’ knot!

  • I saw the trailers for that atrocious-looking Julia Roberts Snow White film, and I was appropriately horrified. But this? This looks AMAZING. I had not seen a trailer for it. I want to be Charlize Theron’s character when I grow up.

  • “Losing Robert Pattinson? No, that’s never going to happen”

whopsee.. did, and maybe it was worse that the horses.

  • I love Kristen is a great actress and a good girl, I hope I can support your career more now than before!! Kristen we are with you!! She is sweet and darling!

  • HORRIBLE actress, cheating ho, and not to mention she NEVER washes her hair. If her hair is that nasty, imagine down below. Now rob can get a girl who knows how to wash herself.
