Heeeeere’s Rachel McAdams!

God, I’ve been waiting for a valid reason to really write a post about this woman, and it’s all because I love her so much. Seriously. She is my number one female in Hollywood, and unless she goes all Lohan on us, I anticipate loving her for a long, long time.

Girlfriend recently sat down with Glamour for their February 2012 issue and discussed everything except for the troll that she’s been dating for the past year or so, and for that, I’m grateful, aren’t you?

Here’s Rachel on dressing up for her roles:

“… I love those preliminary conversations about who a character is. You try on wigs, shoes and clothes. It’s preferable when it’s not about looking pretty. It can get a little dull to just be cute. We talk about things like, maybe my character can’t afford these Christian Louboutins. [The stylist] will say, ‘No one will notice.” And I’m like, “Everyone knows that red-bottom shoe!'”

On maintaining comedy as a variation in her acting repertoire:

“I think playing silly [is kind of hard]. I’m very silly as a person, but quality silliness on-screen has more of an art to it. Harrison Ford, whom I was in Morning Glory with, has mastered that dry funny better than anyone.”

On jobs prior to making it big:

“[I worked at McDonald’s] for a good three years. My sister and brother ….

… worked there. My sister was my manager! It was a great place to work, but I had a little bit of an OCD thing with hand washing and just didn’t have time. They were like, “Hey, the drive-through’s backing up. Stop washing your hands!” I was not a great employee; I broke the orange juice machine one day.”

On actor-puppy love when she was a young girl:

“I loved soap operas when I was young, so Antonio Sabato Jr. and Maurice Benard from General Hospital. And who could forget Josh Brolin in The Goonies?”

And what she’d be doing if suddenly she lost all of her acting abilities:

“I wouldn’t mind running a restaurant. I’m not an amazing cook, but I can follow a recipe.”

On dying her hair bizarre colors:

“I always wanted pink hair. I wanted to do my whole head, but my hairstylist, Robert, was like, ‘How about we start small?’ I absolutely loved it. I still think about doing blue at some point, but I don’t like to change my hair before I’m about to do [a film]—you never know what that character’s going to be.”

On that fated Notebook role:

“Well, I bawled my eyes out when I got the script. It was a great story and had so much heart. But it was one of the first big things I had done, and I was just focused on getting through it. It was like, great, a job, I’ll take it.”

Aren’t you listening, Ryan? Don’t you hear the call of your heart? Or is it the Call of the Dong that you’re hearing lately? I mean, what the hell is the matter with you, anyway? You really think this is an actual comparison in any way, shape or form?:

  • I agree with F. I love Michael Sheen. I just watched Beautiful Boy, and he gave a truly great performance in it.

  • WTF? Michael Sheen a troll? One of the most acclaimed actors of his generation? The same guy that has dated many a beautiful woman? The same guy who has an army of adoring fans? The same guy who critics continually praise?

Yes, he isnt the ‘roid suped up dumb blond that is Ryan Gosling. That relationship has been over FOR YEARS! GET OVER IT!

Thankfully, Rachel is lovely, and not nearly as shallow as you quite obviously are.

  • A troll?? Are you serious??!! MICHAEL SHEEN IS THE GREATEST BRITISH ACTOR OF THE NEW GENERATION!!! I Follow him since 2003 “UNDERWORLD”, watched all his films and on November 24th I went to Young Vic Theatre in London (I live in Milan,Italy!) to see THE MOST AMAZING “HAMLET” ever!!!…SO…SHAME ON YOU!!! Maria, Milan, Italy

  • Troll ?? Really ?? … You have trawled your journalistic thesauras and TROLL is the most appropriate word you deem fit to describe Michael Sheen ? Such eloquence !

Have you ever met Michael, have you spoken to him ? Do you even have an ounce of his talent ?

    I think not !

Your woeful and quite frankly immature attempt at a celebrity interview is nothing more than laughable.

I agree with Madnad, thank GOD Rachel is the most delightful gorgeous creature and does not share your insulting opinion.

  • Oh common guys don’t take it so seriously. If she wants to be bitter about Ryan and Rachel not dating anymore, so be it. People are entitled to their opinion. That doesn’t mean that what she writes should have any effect on Sheen’s image or his fans. She’s no voice of authority, just a blogger. :)

  • Wow a troll really? how fucking judgemental are you? You don’t even fucking know him. Just becuase he’s not hot to everyone in the world doesn’t mean he’s not attractive to other people. Michael Sheen is fucking PERFECT and whoever wrote this is a dick. You could never compare to him in a way, shape or form. He’s talented, funny, personable, and a great guy so fuck you!

  • I know that there is free speech but there is also such a thing as treating a person with decency and dignity. Mr. Sheen has always held himself up as an artist with integrity. He is highly praised by both critics and his fans alike. He has also always given his time freely to charitable works and treated the people including his fans with a kind nature. As far as his looks, there is no doubt in my mind and many others minds that he is a very handsome man, but more importantly, he is a person of great integrity in both his life and his work. He believes in the projects he chooses and also in the charitable work he does. That is a rare quality in this world. Both Michael Sheen and Rachel McAdams deserve an apology. You can’t hurt one without hurting the other. I wish both of them the best of luck in their relationship.
