A photo of Paul Bettany

“I loathe the movie business. I love making films but I loathe the business. It’s kind of repulsive. And I hate to be one of those actors moaning about how the films were better in the past, but f*ck me, films were just better in the past. Know what I mean? The ’70s – f*ck. I’ve made some bad movies, but some of those bad movies have been other people’s dreams, so it would be sort of inelegant to tread on all that. I’ve made movies because I’ve thought, ‘God I really want my kids to have a house in the country.’ It’s depressing, not being in charge of one’s destiny. So what you have the power to do as an actor is the power to say no. You don’t have the power to say yes.”

- Poor Paul Bettany has his panties in a bunch about his poor sad life.

I love Paul Bettany, I do. He’s been in some damn good movies, too. A Knight’s Tale will always be incredibly close to my heart, as will A Beautiful Mind. But, um, he’s also been in some pretty awful ones (Wimbledon, am I right?). But Jesus, Paul, get a grip. Settle down, have a cup of tea, cuddle up with Jennifer Connelly, and just call it a day, because I can’t listen to this whining anymore.

A photo of Vinny Guadagnino

There’s just something special about Vinny, isn’t there? Sure, it seems like he’s gotten a tad bit douchier since the first season, but still, I don’t think we’ll ever see Vinny getting arrested while trying to find the beach or knocking some dude out on the boardwalk. I just don’t think he has that in him. And, according to Vinny’s cheeky little blog, neither does he:

Hey reality star… you suck. You can’t ever be taken seriously because… look it…I mean….You’re on a friggin’ reality show for God’s sake! You suck because you’ve become famous for being yourself, partying, and  having sex with cameras following you around. You are a SELLOUT! Ok I’m sorry, I will be kinder to you. I know that the show doesn’t represent your entire personality but I have to judge you solely on what I see on TV. The fact that you signed up for a reality show means that you are desperate for fame, you have no brains, family values, or any sense of self respect. There is absolutely NO WAY that you can be on a reality show yet also share these traits. I mean….can I even call you a “human” now? Are you human? Maybe you were, but you can never be again. Whatever you do, do NOT expect to be taken seriously in the real world after being on a reality show. How the hell can we take you seriously? The fact that cameras followed you around for a few weeks absolutely diminishes any positive humanly qualities that you once had.

A photo of Melissa McCarthy

For real, can we? I’ve watched Bridesmaids twice this week, I’ve been praying real hard about getting into Mike and Molly, and Melissa is hosting Saturday Night Live tonight. All of those things combined mean that now is the perfect time to convince you all how awesome this lady is:

On her Emmy win: “I remember my knees went first, and I thought, ‘Oh God, please don’t fall down,’ ” she says of her thought process in that moment. “Just keep it upright. You’re in a dress. Your mom and dad are watching.”

On being invited to host SNL: “I went into such an embarrassing, weird, inappropriately loud cry,” says McCarthy of her response, laughing about a story she shares often. “Annie [Mumolo, Bridesmaids writer] was running in circles. She thinks something horrible is happening because I’m bent over, literally, in the rug section of Living Spaces wailing.”

On appearances: “The stupid stuff like what I wear or how I look I can’t control, so I just try not to give too much energy to it,” she continues, noting later that after having her second child, her body is a work in progress. “At 20, I would have been like: ‘Don’t they like me? Was it my hair?’ At 41, I think the things that define me, I hope, are a lot more than those kinds of petty things.”

Was that charming or was it charming (here’s a hint, you guys: it was charming)? Are you in love yet? Are you at least going to watch SNL tonight?

A photo of Evan Rachel Wood

I know, and I usually hate this kind of nonsense, when ladies wear suits, but this isn’t just anybody, you guys. This is my new favorite, Evan Rachel Wood and everything she wears and everything she says (post May 2011) is just absolute perfection.

Right?
