Sporty Spice, or Mel C, or Melanie Chisholm, has gone a long way since her Spice Girls days. She’s had a baby, she’s been working on a solo career, and even though she’s still really bad at fashion, she’s trying. So when she opens up at length about how Rihanna needs to check herself for being too racy and popular, I think we really need to listen:

In an interview with the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: “People have to take some responsibility because we’ve got to a point where the over-sexualisation of young children has gone too far. I think music is a big part of that. Women in music are extremely sexual and they have young fans. It is inappropriate.

“Rihanna has a responsibility and although culture’s always changing, it’s changed too much. It needs to be dealt with. It’s reached saturation point, we owe it to our kids to protect them.”

The 37-year-old singer – who is about to release her new solo album ‘The Sea’ – added: “I love Rihanna, I think she’s a f*cking brilliant artist, with great songs, a great record and she looks fantastic … but she’s not a mum. Maybe if she becomes one she’ll feel different. I hope so anyway.”

She said: “It’s a long time ago since the Spice Girls were first together and we were criticised for being sexual. Yes we wore crop tops, look how much has changed, but we always sat down as a group and if somebody felt something was inappropriate for our young fans, we did something about it. I think that’s something young people in the music industry today, like Rihanna, should do now.”

On one hand, I can see where Mel C here is coming from – I think that Rihanna has crossed that line between sexy and trashy – but on a much bigger hand, I think the problem lies less with Rihanna and more with parents who might allow their young children to see, say, her “S&M” video, right?

When the Wall Street Journal asked Snooki for her take on the current economic climate, she provided this extrapolative “money quote” (haha!):

The economy is really scary because 2012 is coming. I feel like the first thing that’s going to happen… is a blackout and then everyone freaks out and the world goes crazy. So hopefully, Obama will take care [of the economy] before 2012.

But never mind the end of the world: Snooki adds that she has remained vigilantly frugal with her Jersey Shore earnings in anticipation of her fame’s eventual conclusion. “I bought me and my mom a car but that’s about it. I haven’t really spent on anything yet,” she said. “I’m saving up it up for when this is all over, with Jersey Shore and the spin-off, I have enough money to just take care of my family.”

I know we don’t talk a whole lot about Ciara over here, and it’s not because she’s like a less-relevant version of Rihanna (OK, I guess it is a little bit). But girlfriend is definitely relevant today, and she gets the award for “One of the hottest celebrities without makeup.”

Also, the only other reason we don’t talk a whole lot about Ciara is because she gives really crappy nipslips. Someone needs to school this girl on the art of nipple-baring. Still, she looks good all fresh-faced, doesn’t she?

“The number one problem in Hollywood was, is and always will be pedophilia. It’s all done under the radar… But it’s the big secret. Corey Feldman speaks out in a recent interview with Us Weekly, where he discusses his childhood and who was truly to blame for best friend Corey Haim‘s death.

Needless to say, I’m horrified. I think Corey Feldman’s kind of out there with a lot of things, much like the guy who used to hang out at the grocery store in my childhood neighborhood, spouting stuff about chem trails in the sky and alien abductions and government conspiracies and stuff, but I think he’s probably – and unfortunately – pretty spot-on about this pedophilia thing. It’s not as if he was the only one who admitted to being molested as a child in Hollywood, and I’m sure, disgustingly enough, it still happens to this day.

Poor Corey. And poor other Corey, too. This really makes me feel awfully sad.

Isn’t it so nice that Khloe can use her massive star power to come out looking like the biggest and best Kardashian of them all? If I were to choose a Kardashian to befriend, Khloe would stick out like a sore thumb. She’s the greatest, isn’t she?
