A photo of Justin Bieber

Remember back when we showed you some sweet pictures of Justin and Selena Gomez frolicking along the beach, and it looked like The Biebz had a touch of ink on his ribs? Well, it’s because he did. And so does his dad.

In such a tender and loving display of familial affection, Justin and his dad, Jeremy, both got the Hebrew word for “Jesus” tattoed on their torsos. Because hey, nothing says “fatherly love” like getting the Lord’s name permanently etched on your 17-year-old kid’s flesh, right?

Ok, of course I’m just kidding. Plenty more things say “fatherly love” than that. For instance, getting the Lord’s name permanently etched on your 17-year-old kid’s flesh right before he goes off to sin with his lady. Now that speaks volumes, don’t you think?

A photo of Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris

“[It lasted] like, two seconds. Then I was just over it. I was like, ‘Ahh.’ I was over it. I just, like, walked away. I’m not turned on by Hef. Sorry.”

- Loving, doting Crystal Harris talking to Howard Stern about her ex-fiance, Hugh Hefner.

Thanks so much, girl. You know I was wondering what the life of a fame whore might be like. You know I was doing some serious pondering on the issue of marrying for money and also so more people would be interested in your vagina. So glad you could answer these questions. I know I can always count on you, Crystal. Never change!

Good morning, friends! While you’re sipping on that coffee and eating your bagels and listening to birds or whatever it is you people who normally function at this hour do, I’ll just be watching this little trailer for The Ministry, Afghanistan’s answer to the magic of The Office. I’ll just be cooing over Afghanistan Steve Carell and hoping he doesn’t break Afghanistan hearts by leaving them. Yeah, that’s where I’ll be.

I don’t need to reiterate my love for Emma Stone. However, I do need to report whenever the girl does something to earn a little more of it. And this is one of those times.

In this little video, you can see Emma be her charming, hilarious self in a number of ways, but my favorite is by telling a story of a time when her mother got wasted on champagne and had herself a good ol’ time by talking up Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at an event. You know, the classic mom line: “they grow up so fast.” Love it.

Actually, I think Emma Stone could tell a story about anything – the Industrial Revolution, the Black Plague, the rise and fall of everyone’s favorite boy band, The Monkees – and it would be just delightful. Is that an accurate assessment?

I know, the video quality is real shitty, but this is such a lovely story I couldn’t resist. See, on Saturday a concert was held at Bam’s bar in Pennsylvania, a tribute for Ryan Dunn and his passenger, Zachary Hartwell. The bands were all close friends of Bam and Ryan – one of them was a friend from high school, one was Bam’s uncle – so it was a nice, close little event. From reading about it and from seeing these shady little videos, it seems like a very fitting tribute. And the best part? All the money they raised, which turned out to be over $20,000, went straight to Zachary Hartwell’s widow.

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m still a little sad over Ryan Dunn’s death. Is that absolutely ridiculous? The other night I went to pull out my Jackass DVDs, and then I remembered that if I watched them I would probably just be reduced to a sobbing, messy heap on the floor. And hey, I have things to do.

Let’s just remind ourselves that Ryan probably would have loved Bam’s rendition of Lil Wayne‘s tunes and carry on. There’s too much loveliness in the world to be stuck in sadness, am I right?

A photo of Adele

“not many people have it in them to do something they love, simply because they love it. with no fuss and no compromise. but she knew what she was capable of and didn’t even need to try. if she wanted to do something she would and if she didn’t she’d say fuck off. it came easy to her and that’s why we all loved her so much. we believed every word she wrote, and it would sink in deep when she sang them. Amy paved the way for artists like me and made people excited about british music again whilst being fearlessly hilarious and blase about the whole thing. i don’t think she ever realised just how brilliant she was and how important she is, but that just makes her even more charming. although im incredibly sad about Amy passing im also reminded of how immensely proud of her i am as well. and grateful to be inspired by her. Amy flies in paradise.”

- A little blog entry that Adele did for Amy Winehouse.

There are a lot of feelings about Amy’s death out in the world, huh? I’ve never really listed to her music myself, like at all – I’ve probably never even heard “Rehab” all the way through – but if people as magical as Adele are mourning her and her talent so hard, then that’s obviously a mistake on my part.

“Amy flies in paradise.” That really is a beautiful sentiment.
