Kim Kardashian Has Psoriasis

A psoriasis diagnosis on last night's 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'

On the latest episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, a very anxious Kim Kardashian visits a dermatologist to find out about the pink spots on her legs.

In the video, when Kim says, “Khloe seems to think I have ringworm,” I initially went into a full-on WebMD panic, like, OH NO! Annular lesions are a symptom of Subacute Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus! Also, syphilis!

But my panic lasted only a second, because then Kim pulls up her cuffed pantleg, and anyone with a genetic autoimmune disease (*cough*) can see that those are little spots of very, very mild plaque psoriasis. (Mom Kris Jenner also has the condition.)

I do feel bad for Kimmy, because when her dermatologist recommends that she manage her psoriasis by cutting some stress from her life, she genuinely looks crestfallen.

Don’t be a sad panda, Kim! Here are some reasons to not be blue about psoriasis:

– The National Psoriasis Foundation estimates that 7.5 million Americans have it!

– If one parent has psoriasis, your odds of also having it are 10%. You could say that Kim won the genetic lottery! High five! :(

– It’s maybe the only disease where, if someone warns you of the danger of tanning beds, you can snap back, “Look, jerk, I’m treating my psoriasis.” True story.

  • Is it true that Kim is using deer antler velvet to help her psoriasis? I read somewhere that she was approached by a New Zealand company to trial the product, and if the results were good they would be launching in the US soon?
    Anyone heard anything?
It would not surprise me if this were true, she does promote a heap of stuff!
My Brother has psoriatic arthritis and would love to find something that can help!
I heard that kingly Velvet is releasing comments this week about the new product..?
