B.D. Wong in November 2010Oh, no! B.D. Wong confirmed via Twitter that he is leaving Law & Order: SVU for greener pastures. The Tony award-winning actor originated the role of forensic psychiatrist George Huang, who audiences could count on for reliable textbook explanations of weird mental illnesses.

Is Special Victims Unit dunzo? With Stabler leaving, too, and Benson‘s contract expiring in 2012, who’s left? Oh. Ice-T.

In commemoration of 11 years of Dr. George Huang, here’s a video of B.D. Wong singing a Tori Amos song.

Who isn’t leaving SVU? It’s a sinking ship.

    Who knew he could sing?!?

I *LOVE* BD Wong. And George Huang had been my second-favorite character for ages (Judith Light as Elizabeth Donnelly is my favorite character, ever, on that show).

Super sad. And I have no idea why they canceled regular Law & Order. Or Law & Order: LA, since the second season is actually good.

At least I still have Law & Order: UK.

HELL YES JUDITH LIGHT. I saw her starring in a stage production of Wit (AKA “w;t”) in 2000 and she was unreal. Plus, naked. And bald. Unreal, bald, and naked. I was sobbing in my seat.

Law & Order: LA never hit its stride for me, but I really liked that guy who was, like, too young for his mustache? Right? Something about him was “off” in a way that was appealing, at least for a crime procedural.

P.S. Law & Order: UK! <3 to powdered wigs and Freema Agyeman!

        SHE WAS IN WIT??? Amazing!

      • Simon Jadis says:

YES. Goodness. I made a demotivational poster: “Elizabeth Donnelly: Can Simply Walk Into Mordor.” Because I am many types of nerd.

I like the new intro in Law & Order: LA. I also enjoy making fun of it. I like that Alana De La Garza was added to the cast — she has Maleficent’s spectacular face and I loved her on Law & Order (except in ONE episode, “Dignity”).

I cannot watch enough UK. And not just for Jamie Bamber. But also for Jamie Bamber. I have only ONE reservation about Alesha — she expressed a dislike for Margaret Thatcher. Other than that, she is magnificent.

        And she was so great!

      • Simon Jadis says:

Oh! He was also in Push, I believe. Yeah. He plays . . . Jeruzalski? I have almost certainly butchered the spelling of his name. Yes. When last I checked, he’s in some sort of Revenge Society against the guy who killed his last partner.

I also like pretending that Alfred Molina (in every role that he ever has had or will have again) is Dr. Octopus. I am every kind of nerd.

LOVE Alfred Molina. The chameleon talents of Bob Hoskins; the easygoing charm of Oliver Platt! Am I right or am I right

That show is getting a lil boring, they are running out of ideas. I think it is best to end it now anyway.
