I mean, Nicki Minaj and Rihanna did too, and they both performed with Britney, but those gals are people you’d expect to see at these things these days. Britney, on the other hand, is still a re-emerging star, coming back from the grips of mental illness and Cheetos.

We’re going to cover the remainder of the show with a complete list of the winners and a crap ton of photos, but as I consider these duets to be the best moments of the night, it’s first.

Ok, obviously that headline wasn’t fair, and my choice in the image to display above was really unflattering. Clearly I need to get with the legal system and just support Lindsay already. I’m so sorry for being unnecessarily negative in these trying times.

Anyway, Lindsay went on house arrest yesterday, but not until after she posed for some silly looking pictures.  It’s comforting to know that some things never change, isn’t it?

If y’all want to talk about Nicki’s butt like we’re at the barbershop, that’s cool, but I want to talk about her look, because listen, anyone who wears a rainbow unitard has no business not being my very best friend, ok?

Ok, I love Camilla Belle.  Love. Her.  So much. I think she’s so stunning and she was in one of my tip top favorite movies, The Chumscrubber, plus she used to date the hot Jonas Brother, so basically she’s perfect.  And then this outfit happened.

Lady tuxes, really?  I hate a damn lady tux.  Camilla Belle was looking totally gorgeous, as always, and then she has to throw on this gross, silky mess of a tuxedo.  I want to rip this trend off of the entire world and burn it in a barrel in my backyard, along with Katy Perry’s worthless demands and anything that Courtney Love has ever worn.  Who’s with me?

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides opened this past Friday, and now it’s official: it’s not just Michael Bolton, everybody in the whole world is still interested by those wacky pirates and their crazy adventures. Entertainment Weekly has all the box office info:

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the fourth movie in Disney’s hugely successful franchise, opened to $35 million on Friday according to early estimates. If the estimate holds, it will just barely beat Fast Five‘s $34.4 million gross to score the year’s biggest opening day. Compared to prior Pirates films, there’s a definite downward trend, at least domestically. The second film, Dead Man’s Chest, plundered $55.8 million its first day, while the third movie, At World’s End, took in $42.9 million. Still, On Stranger Tides‘ smaller debut is no cause for mutiny, as the 3-D adventure film is headed for an opening weekend of around $88 million, which would be the year’s best so far. And Johnny Depp and company are doing gangbusters overseas, where the movie has already earned $92.1 million in three days.

Did you catch that it beat out the fifth Fast and the Furious movie?  That is a Huge Deal.

If you don’t care about box office earnings and numbers and so on and so forth, let me talk straight with you:  I went to see this movie last night.  I didn’t love it.  I thought the mermaids were really well done, and it’s always nice to look at Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz, but, just like I did with the third Pirates movie, I fell asleep in the middle.  So I’m sorry that I can’t give you a really accurate review, but, um, I did have a really good nap, so there’s that silver lining.
