Did you sit with bated breath as you waited to see which American Idol contestant would be going home? Did you do an awkward little fist pump that startled your sleeping puppy when you heard it was Pia Toscano? Well, then we had pretty similar nights last night, and I think we should probably be friends on Facebook.
It was really just a matter of time before Pia was sent home – she wasn’t going to win. I say that because I have faith in America, even after it almost sent the glorious Casey Abrams home (love you no matter what, Casey!). At the end of the day, Pia is just a one-trick pony, and while admittedly she has a pretty sweet trick, it’s not enough. Because you know what people like to see onstage? Stage presence. Pia didn’t really have any of that going on, and if I had to watch her stand still and wave her arms around and bore me and my puppy to death for one more week, I was going to lose it.
What do you guys think? Did Pia deserve to go home? Who do you think is going to win now?

She sounds like a very average lounge singer. And that’s not to insult lounge singers. She occasionally drifts outta tune, and it’s right at the beginning of each line, which is kinda jolting.
A year or two with voice lessons and some of her voice, which is
strong in places, could improve drastically.
I completely disagree! I now think that the judges REALLY wasted that save!
When it all comes down to it…Pia had THE BEST voice in the competition…it was WAY too early for her to leave! But I guess it’s the Daughtry effect!
Girl, please. Pia had a tired ass routine and you know it. If she could play an instrument or display some charm or do something besides some ballad bullshit with some halfass arm movements, I might be a little inclined to agree.
Pia had an awesome voice but shes one of those contestants that sing good and you want well for them but they dont stick out for you….
P.S Casey Abrams kinda seems socially retarted and I don’t really like his singing compared to alot of others including Pia…
Umm, no fist pump for me. She was way better than the other contestants. Considering the tweets from other celebrities I’ve seen about it, they seem to be more in tune with me too.
Didn’t care for her much.. She has a fantastic voice, but somehow her performance allways turns out plain BORING! So I’m not at all sad to see her go.
Seriously? That girl had the best voice of any of the contestants on there! Every time she got up there to sing she was flawless except for the night she got kicked off due to her being so shaken up! I agree that she wasn’t much of a performer but I think that comes with time! She just hadn’t come out of her shell and found her comfort zone yet. But I do think she would have. This is a singing competition….plain as that….and she could sing! I hope that she ends up with a record deal like they are saying because with a year or so of training about how to be a performer, I think she would have surprised everyone! I think that is just her personality and she wasn’t comfortable enough to show that side of her! I loved her!
