Sandra Bullock Donated a Million Dollars To Japan Disaster Relief, What Have You Done Lately?

Sandra Bullock has donated a million dollars to relief funds for 9/11, the Indonesian Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina and now she’s donated a million dollars to benefit victims of the recent earthquake in Japan. Yeah, if she wasn’t already the coolest, nicest chick in all of Hollywood, her four million dollars in charity donations should certainly secure her that spot. She’s making Angelina Jolie look like a selfish troll.

The American Red Cross has released a statement about Sandra’s donation, which I found on etonline.com:

“The American Red Cross is extremely grateful for this generous support from Sandra Bullock and her family. This contribution is vitally important as the Red Cross works to provide critical assistance and essential relief items in this time of urgent need for so many people in Japan.”

So I guess there’s really no excuse for me to not text REDCROSS to 90999 and give a measly $10 donation. I spent that much on pizza and cheap wine last night and now I feel like a total bag of dicks.

Have you done anything to help out the relief fund?

  • i’m out of work, brokeass as can be right now, and yes. i did the red cross thing. i’m not trying to toot my own horn, but i knew i’d feel guilty if i didn’t try to help even a bit. there’s always someone else worse off than you, who you can help even a little.

  • Well….. IMO Japan doesn´t need money.. it´s not a developing! It was in a very good economic condition before.. of course it is very tragic what happens there, but I think there are other countries who need money more necessarily..
What Japan need is Manpower well and our prayers

  • Molls, you’re not a bag of dicks. Give whatever you can, anything will help. Don’t let charitable gifts be dictated by guilt

  • Bag of Dicks… Made me laugh out loud, well done. As for the donation, the Red Cross always needs help. And, the $10 will be put to whatever disaster they feel needs it, so don’t worry that you are helping out a rich country. It will help where it is needed. Great organization.

  • I donated nothing to japan and I am sad about what has happened to them. But why should I throw my hard earned money to another country which is a very rich country. When florida and mississippi was wiped out who helped us?? Think but do not think to hard. answer is americans. What help we received was like a needle in a hay stack. No my money and all my donations have been going to homeless americans and the streets are full of them. “WHY” American vets are out in the streets that fought for our freedom “WHY” are they in soup lines and homeless the answer is because we do not help our own, Most of the ones who get help are not even american. Like this Blog or not, BUT WHAT IT IS – IS WHAT IT IS. And in your heart you know this, The United states can not keep spending our money ,policing, protecting, destroying than repairing what they destroyed, selling cheap and buying high,And fighting other countries wars, with our money. What little bit we have left. We need to use it here. This is my opinion and mine alone.
