Miley Cyrus Caught Smoking Cigarettes

I’m pretty sure that this girl is just trying to kill her father now.

Miley Cyrus was caught smoking a cigarette by the paparazzi yesterday. The pop singer is 18 years old and can legally acquire the cigs, but she’s supposed to be one of those goody-goody types that wouldn’t be caught dead putting chemicals into her body.

As someone who’s in the process of trying to kick a ten year cigarette habit, I wish I could rip that smoke right out of her hand, take a quick puff and then stomp all over it. It’s such a nasty habit and trying to quit is the worst.

Stick to the salvia, girl.

  • ’They have created a fear that is based on nothing’’
World-renowned pulmonologist, president of the prestigious Research Institute Necker for the last decade, Professor Philippe Even, now retired, tells us that he’s convinced of the absence of harm from passive smoking. A shocking interview.

What do the studies on passive smoking tell us?

PHILIPPE EVEN. There are about a hundred studies on the issue. First surprise: 40% of them claim a total absence of harmful effects of passive smoking on health. The remaining 60% estimate that the cancer risk is multiplied by 0.02 for the most optimistic and by 0.15 for the more pessimistic … compared to a risk multiplied by 10 or 20 for active smoking! It is therefore negligible. Clearly, the harm is either nonexistent, or it is extremely low.

It is an indisputable scientific fact. Anti-tobacco associations report 3 000-6 000 deaths per year in France …

I am curious to know their sources. No study has ever produced such a result.

Many experts argue that passive smoking is also responsible for cardiovascular disease and other asthma attacks. Not you?

They don’t base it on any solid scientific evidence. Take the case of cardiovascular diseases: the four main causes are obesity, high cholesterol, hypertension and diabetes. To determine whether passive smoking is an aggravating factor, there should be a study on people who have none of these four symptoms. But this was never done. Regarding chronic bronchitis, although the role of active smoking is undeniable, that of passive smoking is yet to be proven. For asthma, it is indeed a contributing factor … but not greater than pollen!

The purpose of the ban on smoking in public places, however, was to protect non-smokers. It was thus based on nothing?

Absolutely nothing! The psychosis began with the publication of a report by the IARC, International Agency for Research on Cancer, which depends on the WHO (Editor’s note: World Health Organization). The report released in 2002 says it is now proven that passive smoking carries serious health risks, but without showing the evidence. Where are the data? What was the methodology? It’s everything but a scientific approach. It was creating fear that is not based on anything.

Why would anti-tobacco organizations wave a threat that does not exist?

The anti-smoking campaigns and higher cigarette prices having failed, they had to find a new way to lower the number of smokers. By waving the threat of passive smoking, they found a tool that really works: social pressure. In good faith, non-smokers felt in danger and started to stand up against smokers. As a result, passive smoking has become a public health problem, paving the way for the Evin Law and the decree banning smoking in public places. The cause may be good, but I do not think it is good to legislate on a lie. And the worst part is that it does not work: since the entry into force of the decree, cigarette sales are rising again.

    Why not speak up earlier?

As a civil servant, dean of the largest medical faculty in France, I was held to confidentiality. If I had deviated from official positions, I would have had to pay the consequences. Today, I am a free man.

    • Spoken like a true smoker in denial. Experts by the thousands show how cigarette smoking is bad, and you rely on the writings of one individual to aruge your point.

Besides being bad for your health, smoking makes you stink. Nothing smells worse than a smokers breath. Nothing tastes worse than a smokers kiss. And smoking takes away your sense of smell and taste so you don’t even know you smell and taste bad. As an ex-smoker, smell and taste returned to me after a few months. I didn’t realize how offensive I was to the people around me. But I’m only one individual saying this. Don’t take my word for it. Ask any ex-smoker. They’ll all say the same thing I’m saying.

Now I can climb a staircase without losing my breath. I feel better. My life is better all the way around after quitting that repulsive habit after 15 years. Every time I see young people smoking, I think to myself “What a dummy.” These poor saps think they’re going to live forever, when in reality, they’re shortening their lives. Be smart; don’t smoke!

  • i know that smoking is very bad! But people shouldnt hate on Miley for it because its her life nd her choice!

  • Awe. Sweet. Sweet. Cigarettes. Whether you’re a smoker now. A smoker now who wants to quit. A smoker who just quit. A smoker who quit a long time ago. We all must agree. Smoking is soooooo much fun! Especially when you first start. Those early stages. Mmmmm. So much fun! God I love smoking. I smoked for 5 years. quit for 3. And now just smoke on and off. But I’m a lucky mutant breed of human that doesn’t get addicted to anything. But I also don’t make myself feel bad for indulging in bad things so that might help because once I’m done I’m done.

    God smoking is awesome.

    • I think you meant to say “God, smoking is awesome.” Unless you smoke God, in which case you would be right and I would be wrong.

  • Shes turning nasty than ever. Ive always thought, the good things she did in the past were totally fake. Shes not nice at all. Shes a creepy monster!

  • Perhaps this is just a fase that she has now. But Miley should quit, because of her singing career, for her family and fans. I have stopped smoking for eleven years (I started smoking, when I was twelve years old), but I know how hard it is to stop.

  • Professor Philippe Even is correct. We have a number of social issues masquerading as health and safety problems, pushed by foundations formed to make improvements but once they do, they have a full staff and a big budget so they don’t go away but push their agendas even further until they aren’t doing any good and eventually do harm (because we reach the point where the cons are outweighing the pros). Watch public service ads because they are major culprits in spreading false beliefs based on inaccurate, unproven stats.

Note, however, that the Professor did not say smoking is not bad for us; he said it is bad for a person’s health. What he challenged is the conventional wisdom on harm to others from second-hand smoke.

  • Wow……… miley miley miley what have u done to urself? u have turned into a slut-smoking-fag i used to look up to u now if i do ill be a whore…..what happend to u when u were little u used to b the best eveyone looked up to u now ur just out of control ur turning in-to a lindsey lohan!! D: cant u c what ur doing?!??! i miss the old miley!!!!

    i hope ur happy slut

    • Dude. Chill. You are saying some very rude and judgmental things. She’s just a kid. I’m eighteen and I know if someone followed me around with a camera, they would catch a lot more than just some salvia and cigs. Also, you can look up to her if you like. It won’t make you “a whore.” Unless, you know, you look up to her while simultaneously having sex with numerous people and barnyard animals. And even then… each to her own. Doesn’t make you a whore. Though you might want to get some help about the barnyard animals thing. She’s growing up. Kind of like you need to. Cut her some slack. She doesn’t owe you anything. Let her figure things out without all the judgmental bullshit.

(Also: your language and the use of cruel, demeaning and offensive words such as slut, fag, whore etc, are much more “out of control” and silly than anything Miley is doing.)

(Also: you should stop sleeping in English class.)

      • i think you shouldnt even tell sierra what to do, he or she is just expressing theyre freedom of speech. if she doesnt like her, then she doesnt. back off…

and miley knew exactly what she was getting into when she wanted to get into show business, being followed is the price you have to pay for being rich and famous..

and she’s a horrible role model by the way, shame on her but i hope she wakes up, wouldnt like to see her going to rehab like many other stars..

  • She is just making herself look worse now. It’s really bad and I think she is turning into somewhat like Britney Spears but still has less achievements than Britney and also younger.

  • oh come on, who cares if she smokes? No biggie. millions of people smoke, she’s just one of them. what makes her any different? so what if she’s famous. she has the right to make her own decisions and nobody else has the right to judge her for it. she’s 18. let her live her life her own way and stop trying to make it seem like she’s commiting some crime. focus on your own lives instead of hers.

  • why does miley cyrus have to do this all i know i have alot of words to say about this bitch. shes just a nasty old slut

  • well i cant force her to do anything but just let her do her thing and enjoy herself in hell

  • i hope miley reads this to know whats shes doing cause its not right sooner later she will die if shes smokin weed al the time alll i kow that bitch needs to go

  • miely is a dirty bicth mean to her fans now she smokes weed what a dumass. you are giving the wrong messege to your baby fans. they adro you lol fan ass. i love selena gomez she
is a good rolemodel and she is pretty, beatufle, golres i hope god bless you selena

  • You,

I used to adore you and watch Hannah Montana at the age of 12-14, I felt like you were a good role model and a mature kid or youngster.

Your really out of control now, be it staring in n*de pictures publicly or smoking weed or whatever, at the same time , I don’t tell or state that you gotta be the same Hannah Montana or a child forever, but at least show some maturity.

Crore of fans follows you, and outta them, 80% are kids between 12-16, they don’t have that much sense, they do and follow what YOU DO!

This thing made me remember your Hannah Montana’s Carrot episode where you were stating to eat carrots to kids and said once that you ate it and kids all over world started hating them, same thing happening here, but in a larger degree, and now with smoking.

Quit it, its an advice as ex-fan of Miley, and a current well wisher of her, if you want to talk, hang me up over the MSN:

  • I personally think shes just used to the smoke so she doesnt choke on it. When i first tried a cigarette i felt like i was choking. I think shes preparing her body for it so when it comes to filming she wont be caughing during the shoot. My opinion….

  • i think Miley is a good rolemodel and i think that this thing of her smoking is not right but remember she is only 18 and i think that let her make her own decisions as it is her life. we also must not judge her cause it is her life and it is part of growing up so leave her to choose for herself as she will face her own consequenses
