I’m not going to knock this because I, much like the majority of today’s youth, am a huge fan of arrogance, but can you imagine if one of the pop stars from previous eras said something like this? There was something so sweet about someone like Jordan Knight or Nick Carter looking into his lap mid-interview and saying something like, “Oh, man. These girl fans embarrass me. You know, I wake up in the morning and I have stinky breath and messed up hair, too. Part of me wonders if those girls would be into me if they saw me like that, too.”
And then you’d throw your Teen magazine clear across the room and squeal something like, “Oh no, Taylor Hansen! I’d love you no matter what but that’s so hardcore dreamy that you just told us what you look like first thing in the morning!”
That was how it was done, ya know?
But we live in an era of all-swag-all-the-time now, so this is the ‘tude that makes the teenage panties drop. I get it. I get it.
