I know, I know, right? But don’t get too excited just yet … it’s just a themed photo shoot featuring the original Thelma and Louise, Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis.

The ladies will are set to reprise their roles for a photo segment in an upcoming issue of Vanity Fair in order to commemorate the film’s 20 year anniversary.

Damn.  Twenty years. Thelma & Louise came out twenty years ago. And I remember it vividly. Not that, you know, I was allowed to watch it or anything, but I can remember my mother and her best friend getting all dolled up to go and see what was touted as the latest and greatest of the early-nineties cult chick flicks.  My dad made his specialty dish that night – Kraft macaroni and cheese (The wagon wheels, bitches) – and I waited up all night for my mom to come home and tell me about her jaunt to the theater.

Though I wasn’t able to watch it ’til I was much older (I was a mere eight years old in 1991), I vaguely remember my mother and her girlfriend making Thelma & Louise related comments for years thereafter, and I’d pretend I understood the innuendos and chuckle along, like I was some kind of worldly, hip, sophisticate with a bevy of celebrity knowledge.

Apparently some things never change.

Ok, maybe not the world, but at least an Oscar.

Remember The Social Network?  I don’t, because I didn’t see it (until they make a movie about Neopets or Youporn, I doubt I’ll be interested enough to see a movie about a website), but the rest of the world did, including Lance Bass.  And like many people, Lance had strong feelings about it:

“I think ‘The Social Network’ just made sense for everyone. It was something that everyone had in common. Everyone could relate to it. Even I finally got a Facebook page, and honestly, it changed my life. The movie captured that revolution, and Justin helped capture that revolution.”

When Lance was asked if he thinks Justin deserves an Oscar, he responded with “Of course! Justin did an amazing job in the movie. He was incredible.”  Lance also said that Justin “blew me away.”

I’ve seen Justin on SNL and in Model Behavior and everything, but an Oscar, really?  Maybe I’m just way too attached to “Sexy Back” Justin and “Tearin’ Up My Heart” Justin, but this seems like a little much.  On the other hand, I’ve only seen clips, so maybe some magic happened that I don’t know about.  So you guys tell me – does Justin deserve an Oscar?

After fighting a long battle with cancer, Elizabeth Edwards, wife of disgraced politician John Edwards, has passed away. Elizabeth lost the battle with cancer today at the age of 61.

Despite the fact that Edwards had been ill for quite some time, it didn’t prevent her from cultivating a respectable, public, political image for herself – even throughout the time when her husband’s affair had come out into the open. During this time of sickness, Elizabeth also published her memoirs and lectured to crowds of thousands on being a survivor, being resilient, and being an informed, strong woman in today’s political arena.

Elizabeth kept up the fight even up until yesterday afternoon – she published a note to friends on Facebook saying:

“I have been sustained throughout my life by three saving graces — my family, my friends, and a faith in the power of resilience and hope. The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered. We know that.”

May you finally rest in peace, Liz. You will always be remembered as a phenomenal woman in my eyes.

I just told you the other day that Jwoww’s scuzzy ex-boyfriend is suing her for past due “management fees.” Now we’re learning that his claim that she never paid him was issued only after her lawyers sent him a letter demanding that he hand over nude photos of the reality star that were in his position.

Thomas Lippolis, the asshole in question, supposedly has some seriously compromising photos of Jwoww that could potentially ruin her existing contract with MTV. Basically, this girl is getting screwed over by a broke dude who wants a piece of her money and doesn’t mind threatening to sexually exploit her to do so.

I’m not gonna lie, I feel badly for little Jenni Farley. I really do. I think my first instinct is to be all like, “How can you be so freakin’ stupid, Jwoww?” like I did the other day, but I can’t really blame a person for accidentally falling in love with some monster and giving him a nudie pic. I think it was ridiculous for her to be so casual about who she had running her business for her, but no one signs up to be exploited.

Jim Carrey’s daughter Jane and her husband, Alex Santana, have decided to end their shot marriage and have filed for divorce. You may remember that not even a year ago, Jane was in the headlines after giving birth to the couple’s baby boy, Jackson Riley Santana. Her father’s spokesperson announced the split on the couples behalf, saying that they intend to “remain friends, as well as devoted parents to their 9-month-old son, Jackson Riley.”

With Jim and Jane both single for the first time in years, some serious father/daughter bonding is probably going on right now. According to The Daily Mail, Jane is currently visiting Jim on the set of his new movie. The two were photographed ice skating together yesterday.
