Demi Lovato, as reported the other day, admitted herself into treatment for an eating disorder and self-harm, but stories emerged that very evening from TMZ, claiming that Demi had a physical argument with a female member of her tour staff the night before her admittance that caused the Disney star to take a good, hard look at herself and what it was that she needed in order to be happy.

A ‘close friend’ of Demi’s has come forward to validate the allegations that Demi did, in fact, ‘attack’ a staff member, and People has the official story:

“As she did on most nights off, Demi invited her band, dancers and her parents to dinner. Afterward, she broke off with a very small group.”

The following day, tour managers and Lovato’s stepfather, Eddie De La Garza, questioned the group’s conduct. According to a source close to the situation, the group had been partying.

“When tour management found out about this, they talked to the people involved, including Demi. Demi reacted badly and perceived that someone on tour had told on her.”

When Lovato and other tour members were on an airplane that same day, Lovato confronted a young dancer, whom she thought might have been the one to blame for telling on her. “There was a short, physical altercation,” says the source, adding that it was “one-sided.”

“Afterwards, Demi felt awful about her behavior and realized she needed to take personal responsibility for it,” says the family source. “Because of this, and because of the battles Demi has fought throughout her life, both she and her family realized she needed to take steps to get help immediately.”

The singer-actress “decided to seek medical care for her physical and emotional issues at a treatment center,” says the source, adding, “she is not in drug rehab.”

So apparently, TMZ had something right on this one, as they usually do. It’s no joke when issues like this can crop up and take a stranglehold on your life, but again, I have to give Demi the credit she deserves for nipping this in the bud.

Gwyneth Paltrow to Sing on Glee

So I just read on Vulture that Gwyneth Paltrow did a cover of Cee-Lo’s “Fuck You” for Glee, and this excites me very much. I love it when that snobby snob snob isn’t talking about stretching and eating free-range chicken and how much her kids loves their Uncle Jay-Z and just sings for a minute. She’s so much more pleasurable in those moments. Mad true. I’m not crazy about their choice of cover (it was a summer hit and who wants to hear the radio version ever?), but I’ll take it.

The rest of the CDs track list included “Just The Way You Are”, “Marry You”, “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life” and “Valerie”.

Borrrrrrrrrrring. I want to hear those kids sing some Creedence.

What do you want to hear on Glee?

Remember this little gem?  Kanye’s infamous “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” announcement?  All right, now remember 9/11?  Yes?  And that whole War on Terror thing?  And the actual Hurricane Katrina, not just Kanye’s comments on how Bush handled it?  Ok, now that you have those things in your head, guess which one George Bush considers the worst moment of his presidency.

Of course it’s Kanye.

Matt Lauer interviewed Bush about the former president’s upcoming book, Decision Points (both of which you can check out next week), and Matt had some questions about what Bush wrote about the Kanye comment, which was that “the suggestion that I was racist because of the response to Katrina represented an all-time low.”  Bush got upset all over again, and Matt decided to push it:

Lauer: “You say you told Laura at the time it was the worst moment of your presidency?”

Bush: “Yes. My record was strong, I felt, when it came to race relations and giving people a chance. And it was a disgusting moment.”

Lauer: “I wonder if some people are going to read that, now that you’ve written it, and they might give you some heat for that. And the reason is this — “

Bush [interrupting]: “Don’t care.”

Lauer: “Well, here’s the reason. You’re not saying that the worst moment in your presidency was watching the misery in Louisiana. You’re saying it was when someone insulted you because of that.”

Bush: “No, and I also make it clear that the misery in Louisiana affected me deeply as well. There’s a lot of tough moments in the book. And it was a disgusting moment, pure and simple.”

One of my nieces used to be an absolute demon.  She wouldn’t listen to anyone, she liked to pull hair and pinch and say mean things. But after a while of this, she’d always get to the point where she was just spinning, like she was just sputtering out nonsense, and that’s when I’d pick her up and put her on my lap, and I’d say “it’s ok, honey, it’s ok, just go to sleep.”  And that’s exactly what this interview makes me want to do to George Bush.  The man is sputtering out nonsense, and somebody needs to rock him to sleep.

Ashlee Simpson's Short Hair Cut

Ashlee Simpson showed off a new hair cut last night at some denim line’s launch party and personally, I am loving this look on her. It takes serious guts to pull off short hair and Ashlee definitely has the face for it. Perhaps the haircut is a sign that she’s coming into her own again. It seems like she kinda fell off the radar for a little while, what with motherhood and then that embarrassing Melrose Place stint.

I’ve always loved Ashlee because of her personality and spunk and this haircut gives her a chance to highlight those parts of herself. I’m so glad she’s not hiding behind those red curtains of hair anymore.

What do you think about Ashlee’s new cut?

Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus are getting divorced but they’ve yet to decide how they’ll be splitting up their biggest asset: Miley. With Miley being worth close to a billion dollars, she’s obviously the family bread winner. She’ll be turning 18 soon enough, but whatever parent she chooses to keep managing her career (or at least on her payroll) will be in the money for life.

Miley seems to be sticking close to her dad ever since rumors broke that Tish cheated on Billy Ray with that sea monster Bret Michaels. A source close to the family was quoted as saying, “Miley and Billy Ray have an incredible bond. This whole situation has hurt Miley’s relationship with her mother — she’s definitly going to side with her father.”

And it seems like Miley and her mother haven’t been that close for some time now. You guys may remember that I reviewed Miley’s show at the House of Blues earlier this year where the singer put her mom on blast for skipping the show due to illness.

It’s not looking good for Tish. It’s a shame that the girl even has to make a choice, though.

After reading this story and relating it to you guys, I’m going to head to the kitchen to soak my eyes in a nice, tall, acidic glass of orange juice, and throw a giant dollop of vodka in there for good measure. Then I’m going to swish the eyes around in the glass (carefully, mind you; hard to do this shit with, you know, no eyes), suck the entire thing back – eyes and all – and let the whole mess digest in my stomach. Because the eyes? They’re so much better off down there, closer to my own bowels, than of the bowels of this story, which are sure to get blacker and stinkier before things get better.

Apparently Billy Ray Cyrus was the one who filed for divorce against his wife of a few decades, Tish Finley-Cyrus, because she couldn’t keep it in her pants, and had a long-standing affair with Bret Michaels, who Miley Cyrus has an odd musical affinity for. Or maybe … aw, fuck no, I’m not going down that road. But I will say, who knows – maybe these crazy sumbitches really do keep it all in the family. So, yeah. Gross. From Us Weekly:

Michaels, 47, “became close to the entire family” this past February when he and Miley released the racy duet “Nothing to Lose,” an insider tells Us Weekly.

He and Tish, 43, soon began carrying on an on-the-sly romance, sources tell Us Weekly. Tish was seen at Michaels’ Feb. 28 show at the Key Club in L.A., and he had once asked her production company’s help to adapt his book, Roses & Thorns, into a movie.

“Billy Ray was completely unaware of what was going on,” the source says of the “Achy Breaky Heart” crooner, who is seeking joint custody of their three minor children, Miley (who turns 18 Nov. 23), Braison, 16, and Noah, 10. (They have three older children from previous relationships.)

Though a rep for Michaels refutes the allegations, telling Us Weekly, “There has never been an affair or a fling,” and a rep for Tish also denies the dalliance, the Cyrus source insists, “It was a professional relationship that turned into something more.”

So there you have it guys. They’re clearly sleeping together. Like, as we speak. While listening to “Achy, Breaky Heart.” On a zebra-print rug in front of Bret’s heart-shaped, rose-adorned bed.

… Git your glasses ready, Shep … I’m on my way out the kitch’n and I’ma headin’ for that big ol’ bottle!
