OK, So Justin Timberlake Can Definitely Still Sing

After I saw The Social Network, my first complaint was that I’m really over Justin Timberlake The Hollywood Actor. I loved him as a singer and while dabbling in the movie biz is expected for any multi-hyphenate these days, JT seems to have stuck around a little bit too long.

But his performance from last night that’s making the rounds on the Internet is even more proof that he needs to get back into the recording studio. It’s a mash-up/cover of “Cry Me a River” and “Ain’t No Sunshine” that he really sings the hell out of. His singing and his acting aren’t even in the same league, ya know? This is why we tolerated Justin in the first place. He’s mad sexy when he sings. Oh, girl and the dancing. Don’t you miss the dancing?

Come back to us, Original Justin Timberlake. We miss you.

  • Really? As a straight man, I wasn’t a huge Justin Timeberlake fan. I remember him being the goofy looking kid with the blonde afro in N Sync. Then he went solo and became a mega star, and he’s definitly a good entertainer, but again I, like many guys, wasn’t really a fan.

So far I’ve seen Timberlake in 3 movies, Alpha Dog, Black Snake Moan, and Social Network. I was pleasantly surprised to find that he can really act his ass off. Seriously, he had done a great job in anything I’ve seen him in. Also, his comedic work on SNL has been really good. I agree with you when you say it’s normal for musicians to try to go into movies (and vice versa) and they usually are pretty underwhelming, but I disagree with his singing and acting not being in the same league. He is fantastic at both.
