Shiloh Pitt-Jolie Photographed Wearing Boys’ Swim Trunks

And the age-old debate goes on about whether or not it’s “appropriate” for the Pitt-Jolies to allow their four-year-old daughter to continually cavort in boys’ clothing.

Us Weekly released a photograph of young Shiloh playing in a pool with her sister Zahara, wearing what can only be described as a pair of boys’ shorts and a gold necklace.

Naturally, the shit has started about “Angelina and Brad encouraging androgyny,” and “parenting gone awry,” but you know what the bigger picture is here? Why the fuck is some skeevy photographer lurking in the bushes, trying to take photographs of the Pitt-Jolie kids while they swim? I think that’s the biggest point that people are missing today. I personally don’t care what Shiloh decides to do as she gets older — it’s not as if it’s something we haven’t seen before — and Brad and Angelina’s parenting methods are of no concern to me (they’re not my children, after all), and yes, I think that people are looking way too far into the fact that Shiloh, a four-year-old girl, is wearing boys’ swimming trunks rather than the fact that there’s some BS picture-taker-of-children floating around, allowing these photos of a private family’s outing to run in a national magazine.

Priorities, people, priorities.

  • I completely agree, Sarah. Shiloh is four. And while I personally encourage androgyny when the child him or herself embraces it, even if I were opposed to children wearing clothes other than those that people expect, I would STILL be way more concerned about those creepers. I mean, geez.

    • We are all happy to hear about your personal policy of encouraged androgyny. Please kill yourself and don’t leave a note.

  • She’s four, who cares what she wears.
I’m more concerned for the people who spend their time judging a four year olds outfits. Seriously.

    • Recent study says your personality is set by first grade. Time to get a move on if they don’t want another “Butch” Bono.

  • My daughter is 13 and she wears boy shirts,,,ppl really need to get a grip. And I agree the bigger issue is the skeevy photographer

  • she’s a kid and she’ll get over this tomboy phase. people need to stop freaking out. if i were her mom, i wouldn’t let her wear swim trunks, though. that’s a bit much.

    • I’m ok with the shorts, but I think a shirt would be appropriate. There does come a time when you need to teach your daughter modesty. Mine is 7, and would live in a bathing suit if I let her, but she’s learning that there are times when she should be covering up.

  • why aren’t people happy that this is a healthy 4 year old with so much self esteem that she is already so opinioated about what she wants to wear.

  • Whats wrong with hand me downs? I used to get them all the time when I was a kid and now that I have kids I love it when people give us clothes we dont have to buy. Doesn’t Shiloh have 2 older brothers?

ng in the bushes, trying to take photographs of the Pitt-Jolie kids while they swim? I think that’s the biggest point tha

  • Thank-you evil beet Sarah for pointing out how not-okay it is for a photographer to be lurking in their bushed, trying to take pictures of children swimming. Thank-you for not using those pictures in this story. Paparazzi take pictures of something you bring up for discussion, controversy about a female child wearing boys swim trunks, a female whose parents are known the world over. They take pics of something that will sell, something that unfortunately everyone feels the need to talk about. If only people would mind their business and focus on their own families as much as they focused on that of celebrities, perhaps the world would be a better place.

  • Maybe she just looks up to her older brothers and wants to dress like them. This isn’t really a big deal. While I think they’re adorable, I wish kids would be off limits to the paparazzi.

  • you go on this tirade about a photographer creeping on shiloh, taking pictures of a little girl from the bushes… and THEN YOU POST A LINK TO THE EXACT PHOTO IN YOUR POST FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE!?!? are you retarded, really??? i cannot take anything this chick, sarah says seriously. it’s all BS.

    • “there’s some BS picture-taker-of-children floating around, allowing these photos of a private family’s outing to run in a national magazine.”

AND THEN SHE POSTS THE LINK ON AN INTERNET GOSSIP SITE!!
hahaa i can’t get over how hypocritical this is!!

  • Honestly, when I was six I had a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles outfit that I loved. Unfortunately, as a girl my clothing options were limited to My Little Pony, so I wore head-to-toe boys’ clothes so that I could profess my love of Donatello.

Those people who are so concerned about Shiloh’s mental health should take a step back and think about the impact of the constant presence of paparazzi on a child instead of worrying about her being ‘weird’ because she doesn’t wear bikinis.

  • gender roles are built by society. we’re all painfully showing what we’ve been brought up to believe what is ‘right’ for a girl and for a boy. who cares. shiloh is 4 and doesn’t know that society is screaming in her face to wear an uncomfortable pink tutu because it ‘looks better.’ aren’t there a ton of girls who self-proclaim that they were tom boys growing up? yeah, this is no different. get. over. it.

  • Who cares what a 4 year old wears! personally when I was four I thought I was a boy and I was trying to pee as a guy (I had 4 brothers and no sisters) I’am perfectly straight! She is just a little child and she can do whatever she thinks its fun.
