Today's Evil Beet Gossip

How Bizarro is This?

So Selena Gomez was on George Lopez’s talkshow on Monday night, and since no one really watches that show, this clip kinda went under the radar. For some reason, despite having a throat so sore that she was unable to talk, Selena appeared on the show anyway and usedd a Speak N’ Spell type device to answer questions. Trust me, it’s even more awkward than it sounds. Like, I wouldn’t be surprised if someone lost their job over this.

  • She is the prettiest 12 year old I’ve ever seen. I thought she was gracious and did well, despite that being SO AWKWARD. She should have just written things down, the machine made it so weird.

  • not as bad as I had expected… it was a creative way to handle the problem.

and Lopez Tonight is a pretty good show if you ask me… Most of my friends like it (the ones who catch it on TBS)- its not like “no one watches that show”

  • i love her shes hot, and it wasnt that bad it was kinda funny. stop hating on everybody molls

  • No, it was every bit as awkward as Molls said. Funny, yes, but awkward. Although I don’t even know who you begin to fire over something like this.

  • That was definitely more uncomfortable than funny. There were plenty of moments that could have just been plain old hilarious, but Lopez found a way to make it awkward. I’m not a Lopez hater, but he really isn’t a good interviewer or entertainer overall. I want him to succeed but he’s just. not good.
Selena Gomez handled herself well though. She really is the most poised teenybopper ever–nails interviews and dresses flawlessly. It’s really too bad about the cheesy career choices she’s made, she could have/ can be a real A-lister.

  • Awe, I actually thought this was kind of cute. She has a way of making it…okay. Not a total disaster.

  • i’m a big fan and i hope one of my siblings take me to go see one of your songs and i hope i get your autograph for my birthday but my birthday already past so i hope to see you some other time bye

  • Actually, she used a Dynavox, which helped promote the use of this device. It is used by people, such as my students, who have no means of speaking. For them, it was so COOL that a star they love used it. Youtube Dynavox to see amazing stories.
    (Speak and Spell indeed.)
