Let’s look at some laws, shall we? In the state of Pennsylvania, children between the ages of seven and eighteen are permitted to work on plays, movies, TV shows, and other similar forms of media. Children under the age of seven can do movies, but there’s no similar exemption in the law for television shows. And guess whose sextuplets are only six?
Republican congressman Thomas P. Murt is getting Pennsylvania’s attorney general to look into the Gosselin situation, because “those permits were granted even though the law does not provide for them.”
This isn’t the first time that the Gosselins have been accused of breaking child labor laws, but this time the investigation might actually force TLC to cancel the show if the permits are found to be invalid. The real issue is clarifying within the law whether a reality show still counts as a television show since the children are just being filmed living their lives.
I think this may be a blessing in disguise. I’ve not cared about the Gosselins for years, and this is the perfect excuse for them to disappear from the public eye. Go gentle into that good night, Gosselins. Please.
I’m afraid that nothing will get Kate Gosselin out of the public eye. Her kids are the best thing about her. Too bad they’re getting royally screwed by their crazy parents.
If nobody busted them for filming their children continuously from before they were born, why will this technicality be respected now?
TLC will probably find a way around it (possible campaign donation done in a way to hide it?).
And Kate will keep exploiting her children, even if she has to wait one more year to do it.
And Jon will keep allowing it, since it’s the only way he can avoid being sued by TLC for breach of contract. They seem to have had no problem shutting him up completely.
They’re just one big manipulative and manipulated family.
So Hector- I take it your Kate Gosselin’s Agent. Cool…just wanted to see how you knew about Kate’s Contract and we didn’t? Before blabbing about someone’s contract you don’t know about…i would suggest you kindly either for legal advice on an Acteresses Contract. Putting down TLC is not a good way to go…because of what you written here..Both Kate Gosselin and TLC now have the right to come after you for your misinformation. This is why i don’t comment on something i have no idea about.
i have to agree with Hector (above) – we may never be free of these leeches. I actually watched about 20 minutes of the show last night for the first time. kate is really unwatchable! She is humorless and cold; what producer ever thought she was watchable. Her children are now old enough to play to the camera, so you know that anything they do they are doing because someone ‘told’ them too…or they think they are cute. could the show possibly be getting ratings? sigh..
I don’t know who I hate more Kate Gosselin or Danielle Staub. They are both absolutely despicable. I wish they would take the same doomed flight….just saying.

Momster, I just read your blog above and I was just wondering how you ever made it through 20 min. watching that show. I made it to about 10 min. It was the one with the chickens. Kate is such a phony bologna she is just sickening!! Ya, the kids are adorable but she better be saving some of that cash for therapy for them. Although, she’ll probably blame Jon for all of that. Not saying that he was an angel, but he really didn’t have a chance.
I think the best thing that could happen is for this show to be taken off the air…….Kate is just a money hungry bitch…I fail to understand how people can watch this crap……………….
