Yesterday in Hyde Park, Lily Allen performed what she called her last gig in the UK for quite some time. The singer (one of my faves) said that she was going to retire from the biz after her second album to concentrate on starting a family. This news was pretty upsetting to most of her fans, but like most retirements in this industry, I doubt Lily will stay out of the game for long.

She'll be retired until her closet is empty of vintage clothes and she realizes that making a living having a store isn't that interesting.
The public has a short memory. If she is gone too long, there will be the super loyal fans who may be back….but most people will have fluttered over to another shiny object in the room. Look at Christina. She has a GORGEOUS voice. But she is jumping up and down acting all lesbian and sh*t — all because the shiny object right now is Lady Gaga. From all indications, Gaga is going to blow a rod & lose her mind and turn Winehouse. But in the meantime, Christina is so last decade. Lily should think long and hard about walking away from the limelight….unless she really – really – is done with it.
