A photo of Vince Neil

Vince Neil, lead singer of Motley Crue, has a DUI today (I’m sure other people do too, so don’t feel bad if your answer did not match mine. There’s more than one way to skin a cat, you know).

He was arrested early this morning in Las Vegas.  Nobody’s saying much about the circumstances surrounding the arrest, but a spokesperson for the Las Vegas Police Department did say that it was accident related.  It’s not likely that the accident was very serious though:  his bail is just $2,000.  You know, not like back in 1984 when he was driving around wasted and killed the drummer of Hanoi Rocks and paid $2.5 million in restitution.

I don’t know if anyone cares about Vince Neil or Motley Crue anymore since it’s not the mid-80′s, but really it just sounds like Vince is a day late and a dollar short*, if you know what I mean.  I hope you get it together this time, Vince.

*It’s a Hanoi Rocks joke, get it?

A photo of Susan Sarandon

But don’t worry, it’s going to be nothing but class.

“It won’t be the Jersey Shore. It’s more of an episodic documentary. We’re trying to invent something you haven’t seen before that follows a bunch of people in this crazy little subculture.”

What subculture is she talking about, you may ask.  And the answer is “ping-pong.”  Because apparently there’s a ping-pong subculture, and Susan Sarandon is really into it.  Who knew?

Susan is an investor in a ping-pong nightclub, SPiN, and she calls herself the “Johnny Appleseed of ping-pong.”  She wants to showcase the growth of the club and the ping-pong players that frequent it, a few of which she believes will make it to the Olympics.

As for when to be expecting this show, Susan doesn’t know that. She’s unsure what network the show should be on because she wants the show to be “quite different than anything else that anybody’s seen before.”

I had no idea ping-pong was this big of a deal.  When I first heard the story, I thought it made sense, but then I realized I was thinking of beer pong, not ping-pong, so I went right back to square one.  And believe me, I love me some Susan Sarandon, but I don’t see me ever watching a show about a ping-pong nightclub.  What about you guys?

photo of victoria beckham long hair and yellow dress

I think this is the longest I’ve seen Victoria Beckham’s hair since she was officially Posh Spice and rocked those ugly-assed platform sneakers that were soooo popular in the late nineties. I count myself smug that I never got into those horrific shoes, and still laugh at those who did. (Uh, sorry, Mom.)

Victoria, who’s had pretty short hair for the past few years, takes a hold of her look and gets some long extensions put in to change it up. But you know what? Though I like her either way — with both short and long hair — the extensions don’t look that great. You can easily see where her natural hair starts and where the weave begins. It’s much … stringier, I guess, toward the bottom.

Well, whatever. I’m shrugging; you just can’t see it. She’s cute either way, and I like her even if she does have poor, head-scratching taste in faux hair.

Ah, marriage. Quite a step up from her former American Pie castmate boyfriend, Chris Klein. Some marry, others go on benders and then go to rehab. Good on you, girl.

picture of tennis star jennifer capriati on the tennis court

The “Can’t Miss Kid,” Jennifer Capriati, was rushed to a hospital in Florida this morning for what was said to be a drug overdose.

Capriati, though excellent on the tennis court, has had a long history of what some would consider “bad behavior.” At a young age, Jennifer was caught shoplifting, and subsequently admitted to drug abuse, eating disorders and thoughts of suicide. Capriati discussed her binge-eating and starvation, claiming that she did, indeed, want to kill herself at a point in time:

“When I looked in the mirror I actually saw this distorted image … I was so ugly and fat I just wanted to kill myself really. At the end of a match, I couldn’t wait to get off court. Mentally, I’d just lost it. I wasn’t happy with myself, my tennis, my life, my coaches, my friends.”

It just goes to show you — money and fame can’t buy you true happiness. Be thankful for what you do have, and good luck to Jennifer and her family. The tennis star’s father says that she’s recovering nicely from the episode, but it’s going to be a long road to real recovery, if indeed this wasn’t an accident.

No, no, he doesn’t. I’m just kidding. But it’s nice to pretend, isn’t it?

Brown was filmed at last night’s BET awards, dancing and singing a tribute to the late Michael Jackson. At the 4:30 mark in the video, you can see Brown sobbing like there’s no tomorrow. And prior to that, he danced like there’s no tomorrow. And in either case, I’ve got Paula Abdul on my mind now, so, thanks.
