Jeremy London and Wife Melissa Lose Custody of Their Son Lryic

Last week I reported that Jeremy London, who recently announced his battle with cheating and drug addiction, was the victim of the most hilarious kidnapping since Frank Sinatra, Jr. Well, shit just got a lot worse. Like, way worse. As in, Jeremy and his wife Melissa have lost custody of their son, Lyric.

Turns out that Jeremy isn’t the only drug addict in the family. After Melissa underwent surgery last year, she became addicted to popping pills. That probably has something to do with why she crashed her car into a 7-11 last week while her son was in the backseat, huh?

And according to RadarOnline, these two have been having serious issues for quite some time now:

And domestic violence between Jeremy and Melissa contributed to their previous problems but both are working to get custody of their son back.

Jeremy and Melissa’s contentious relationship is played out against the reality that they both have very little money. She is renting a room in a house in Palm Springs, RadarOnline.com learned.

After she rented the room and told people she was estranged from Jeremy, he began showing up and hanging out.

One source who has seen Jeremy at the house asked him why he was hanging around if Melissa was his ex. Jeremy said: “I’ve got to keep an eye on her, make sure she doesn’t relapse.”

But another source says Melissa has said: “I don’t have a problem. Jeremy has problems.”

The couple are going to have to submit regular clean urine samples before they get their son back any time soon. Let’s hope that they’re able to get help before this little boy’s adult years are filled with memories of his fucked up parents.

On Saturday night, New Kids on the Block did a concert at Radio City Music Hall.  Good stuff, right (the “right stuff,” I daresay)?  And as the NKOTB were doing a soulful rendition of “I Want It That Way,” the curtain rose and who else should appear but the Backstreet Boys? They all finished out the song together, then had some loving man hugs to conclude the earth-shattering performance.

I’m a little too young to have been a real New Kids on the Block fan, but my sister was not, so I was rocking out to “Please Don’t Go Girl” and “Quit Playing Games With My Heart” at the same time, and my twelve-year-old mind never imagined that these two powerhouses of music could come together in such a culmination of wondrousness*. Donnie Wahlberg showed some similar fan-girling on Twitter:

As for TONIGHTS Concert…. BACKSTREET BOYS got my respect forever! That was awesome! What a night!

I smell a tour.  Please let me smell a tour.

*I’m actually only being about 15% sarcastic.

A photo of Vanessa Carlton

While performing at the Nashville Pride Festival on Saturday, Vanessa Carlton decided to tell her audience of around 18,000 a secret:

“I’ve never said this before, but I am a proud bisexual woman.”

After that announcement and before “Ordinary Day,” she said the song “could be about a boy, girl, tranny, whatever,” then sang the song using female pronouns instead of the usual male ones.

I say good on you, Vanessa Carlton.  In a culture where being bisexual is largely considered being indecisive or just plain slutty (or if you’re a celebrity, a publicity stunt), it takes some courage to do what Vanessa did.  I mean, a pride festival is probably a pretty good place to come out, but I’ve had to have read at least a dozen articles that make Anna Paquin jokes and hilariously speculate about a guest star role for Vanessa on True Blood. Naturally, another popular comment is that Vanessa is just trying to generate some interest in her music.

Why’s it have to be about something, you guys?  Why can’t a girl just be bisexual?

photo of thom yorke, frontman of radiohead, performing at coachella
I’m sure that’s just done wonders for Matt’s ego. You know, not only being runner-up to the epic Thom Yorke (and really, who isn’t?), but being second in line to, uh, “woo” Kate Hudson.

According to Us Weekly, Hudson tried to cozy up to the amazingly talented (and yes I’m going to shamelessly gush about him — saw Radiohead in Boston a few years ago, and from what I can remember, they were fucking amazing) Yorke, but received nothing but indifferent snubs from the talented (and clearly smart) Radiohead frontman:

… A source says when the pair [Bellamy and Hudson] met at Coachella in April, the serial dater was more interested in Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, 41, (who has a longtime girlfriend): “She was chatting him up. He just shrugged and was unresponsive.” Another insider adds, “After she was rejected, she said, ‘What other up-and-coming bands can I go hit on?” Enter Bellamy. Says the source: “She just pounced!”

What “other up-and-coming bands” are available? Is Kate, you know, not only unaware that Radiohead is totally one of the world’s greatest bands of all time, but that they’ve been around for more than two decades??

Get in the know, girl.  Jeez.

” … from ever having to clothes-shop at Walmart ever, ever again.”

No, that’s not what she really said, but in essence … yeah, it was:

“Honestly, Kanye saved my life, and I don’t even think about what I would have been; I just think about what I’m going to be…I don’t look at myself as a celebrity. I’m just a dope chick from South Philly! I mean, it’s crazy when fans come up to me and cry and just want a hug from me. It bugs me out! But it’s really cool.”

Yeah, Amber.  Really, uh, radically bangin’.

… Fucking cheeseball.

photo of actor chris klein making a "kissy" face

And by “band camp,” I mean “rehab,” naturally.

After recent events involving Klein and his (second) DUI, reps for the actor state that he is, indeed, headed to rehab to control his monsters:

“After recent events, Chris was forced to take a clear look at a problem he has been trying to deal with himself for years. He understands now that he can not beat this disease alone. He thanks everyone for their support as he takes all the necessary steps to deal with his addiction and asks for privacy while doing so.”

Well, good for you, Chris. I admire your rep’s honesty that an issue needs to be addressed, and you’re taking the bull by the horns in order to do so. A lot of flighty celebrities do their thing out in public (sometimes at the cost of others), and taking the wheel after you’ve been drinking just isn’t cool. I’m glad to see that you’re seeking the help that you clearly need.
