Sienna Miller and Sadie Frost are Fighting Over a Little Girl’s Hair

Sienna Banned From Ballet Recital After Haircut Surprise

Wow. So this is a bit controversial considering we’re talking about hair… Or are we?

Sadie Frost, Jude Law’s ex-wife and the mother of his children, has a serious bone to pick with Jude’s on-again girlfriend, Sienna Miller. When Sadie was out of town, their daughter Iris stayed with Jude and Sienna, and Sienna took it upon herself to have Iris’ hair cut. While there are worse offenses, taking a woman’s child while she’s out of town and essentially giving her a makeover isn’t really something you should do. Especially when your relationship with the little girl’s mother is already strained (because you’re the home wrecker who broke up her marriage.)

Because Sadie feels so betrayed by both Jude and Sienna, she has banned Sienna from attending her daughter’s ballet recital.

From The Daily Mail:

‘Jude was bringing Sienna to the recital to support Iris, but Sadie has had enough and put her foot down and said she could not come. Sadie is a great mum, she’s just had enough of someone else playing mum with her children. There are many things that Sadie is cross about at the moment. Sienna is making all these plans for Sadie’s children to be part of the wedding party. Jude asked Sadie if she could have an informal meeting with Sienna to smooth over their relationship for the sake of the children – but that was before.’

OK, I see both sides of this story. I think that generally, it’s completely inappropriate as a non-parent to change something about someone’s child, even if it’s just a hair cut. But at the same time, it’s just hair. If Iris has a blunt little bob cut for summer, who the hell cares? Not only will it grow back, but I’m sure Sienna didn’t wreck the little girl’s head.

I also think that perhaps Sadie is making it harder on her kids, who likely are unaware of the cheating and other betrayals that have gone on between the adults in their lives. If Iris wants Sienna at the recital, then it shouldn’t matter how Sadie feels… but what role is Jude playing here? It’s awfully sad that these women have been pitted against each other and it would be best for the kids if all of this was settled before Jude and Sienna tie the knot.

What do you think about this story?

  • Fuck parents putting their children in the middle of their battles. You are so right that if Iris wants Sienna at the recital, she should be there. It's not about Sadie or Sienna. As for the haircut, probably not the best idea but it's not that big of a deal.

  • This article was well written. I wish your readers would stop shouting inarticulately when you do things wrong and start telling you when you do things right. I always think it must piss you off when people reply to articles they feel are badly written or punctuated or spelt with butchered textspeak.

  • I couldn't disagree more..

While to you it's just hair, to some of us it's an issue of RESPECT. I would feel disrespected and betrayed and probably would do a lot more than just not let her come to the ballet recital to see my daughter. If you want respect, you have to respect others, and obviously Sienna doesn't give a fuck about that, so why should Sadie?

  • Hmm…as the girlfriend of a single father, I think one needs to be careful, celebrity or not. If my boyfriend's daughter wanted a haircut while she was with me, I would run it by her father first. While she's with him, he gets to make the decisions. Sadie might be blowing it out of proportion, but I can totally understand why. So unless Jude gave Sienna permission, she shouldn't have done it.
Then again, I don't know this people. As far as I know, they don't really exist. :D

  • While it's clearly an issue of respect, for Sadie to ban Sienna from supporting Iris at her recital is going to hurt Iris more than anyone.

  • Sienna didn't break up that marriage. She and Jude didn't start dating until after his divorce. He and Sienna were engaged in 2004 and a few months later allegations surfaced that he was screwing the nanny. Who reported this news to Sienna? Well, Sadie herself. Then, just awhile back Sienna was galavanting around with Balthazar Getty while topless and god knows what else…..this is the one that she almost broke up his marriage.

  • As a step mother and a biological mother, its a matter of respect. You have NO leeway with a child that is not your own. Oh and in most custody situations, drastically changing a child's appearance without both parents approval is grounds for contempt and/or a warrant of change in custodial agreements – just saying.

  • This exact same thing happened to my friend when her ex-husband had the girls for the weekend, but in this case his new wife cut off 10 inches of long beautiful hair off one of them until it was a bob. The mom told her daughter she looked beautiful and then called her lawyer when the girls couldn't hear. Doing something like that is striking out at the birth parent through the child and is dispicable.

  • I say shave DUMB Jude's suffering mangled mop and call it a draw.. Word to the wise NEVER challenge a child's real mother's authority Seinna.. Especially as Sadie is a successful fashion designer with her own label and might know a thing or two about how she wants her daughters to look. Have your own kid and then see how you'd like another woman your ex is dating not only seducing your husband but your child's love away?

  • Siena would not have had to cut her hair without permission of the mother or father (not to give him a Judas?) But how do you feel when you Sadie Siena cut the boy out of her marriage, Jude? Sienna would be slated if his daughter and maid of honor was not the same, and boys Jude.

  • Hair grows back! Yes, it was a bit disrespectful, but how long has Sienna been in a relationship with this child?

Women need to grow up about hair! As long as the child's flesh hasn't been cut off, and the hair cut is not an abnormal one, Sadie needs to get over herself and show some maturity about the fact that a woman she despises is a de facto step-mother to her children.

I'd be astonished of Jude and Sienna's relationship survives, so Sadie and their children will be stuck with yet another one of Jude's lady friends or another for the rest of their lives. It sucks, but that's the reality.

  • Team Sadie all the way. Sienna is not this child's mother; she's not even her stepmother – and she needs to respect that parental decisions should be made by a child's *parents*. She had zero right to take it upon herself to make a substantial alteration to Iris's appearance without the support of Iris's mom and dad (unless Jude said it was ok in advance, in which case the whole point is moot).

If Iris would be hurt by Sienna not being at her recital, then Sadie needs to set her feelings aside and do what would be best for the kid… but I totally understand her not wanting Sienna there. It sounds like Sienna is really inserting herself as a parent in a very inappropriate way.

  • I have to say, I'm rather astonished by all these responses. My natural reaction was to side with Sienna – it's just a haircut! What's the big deal? It sounds like Sadie is just being petty and trying to find some excuse to keep Sienna away – I know my mom would never object if I was staying with someone for the weekend and they took me to get my hair cut, as long as it was what I wanted. It obviously wasn't against Iris's will, or they wouldn't have done it. Also, she was staying with both Jude and Sienna that weekend, so it's quite possible that they had Jude's permission. What is the point of taking away Sienna's support for Iris at the recital? I think everyone is overreacting…
