Remember when that Greyson Michael Chance kid was on Ellen? Ellen certainly does: she’s making her own record label, and Greyson will be the first artist signed. She’s said that Greyson inspired her to do this, and she’ll use the label to sign other artists she discovers. Greyson, who is being co-managed by Madonna’s and Lady Gaga’s managers, will be on Ellen again today to perform an original song.
There are so many things that are lovely about this news. For one, I’m excited about a Greyson Michael Chance album and I think he’ll save me, along with so many other young and impressionable girls, from Bieber Fever. For two, I just love Ellen for making a talented kid’s dreams come true, and also for being a generally hilarious and awesome human being. But I think the best thing about this news is that Greyson is being managed by the people that manage Lady Gaga and Madonna. It’s only up from here, Greyson!
the conspiracy theory says that she was brought on to american idol to kill the show, transitioning the audience to x-factor. she is liquid shit death on that show. but no, she’s great and funny. and you write on a blog. you’re supposed to be honest, cutting, and insightful. slippin’.
Perhaps she’s adding to the resume to move over to the left hand seat [her left]. If she’s got the host/business manger part they might go with only three judges. Could be an idea because whomever comes on to replace Simon is just cannon fodder.
i get that it’s a hard seat to fill, but she has no personality on that show (“i like you, you’re a good person”). you have to give an opinion on that show and no one on earth that’s seen that show thinks she a) knows anything about singing/music and b) can give an objective opinion about the performers. she reminds me of jay leno, wants the world to like them and can’t help but being hated. i love watching the franchise burn with her.

she may be hilarious and awesome but she could very well be an opportunist…she might have seen that kid and saw the dollar signs.
it’s doubtful she is only doing this as a humanitarian but as a business plan to expand the Ellen Brand.
It’s not like that kid would not have had any other label pick him up, he was already working with Madonna’s Manager Guy Oseary before he was on Ellen….in fact Oseary helped the vid go viral.

I dont know why Ellen is considered an expert on music and why she would have her own label.
Simon Cowell had a contract stipulation that the winner of AI would be signed to his label. Maybe Ellen is going in the same money making direction.
