Actor David Boreanaz is the latest star to come clean about his extramarital affairs. The star of Bones is far from an Angel it turns out because homeboy has been sleeping around behind his wife of nine years’ back forever, apparently. David made a statement to People about his affairs saying, “Our marriage has been tainted with my infidelities. I just want to be open and honest. I was irresponsible.”
Before we all pat Dave-O on the back for ‘fessing up re: his misdoings, you should know that David only came forward with this because he had to. Apparently one of his mistresses has been threatening to leak the information to media outlets. Hey! If I have to give the man props for one thing, it’s for not letting some hooker make a dime off of his wife’s pain (I’m looking at you, Jesse and Tiger.)
So why do you guys think this has been the year of unmasking Hollywood’s illicit love affairs? I’m not even going to pretend that men and women in this town haven’t been philandering since forever, but why is this all of a sudden what we’re reading about every day? Everyone of these women are slutes? Oh please! Most women would jump into an affair with a famous man, married or not, if they could. You cannot tell me, that the majority of women would leave their spouses for George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman etc., if they had the slightest chance to be with them. Actually it BOTH the person who jumped into bed with the commited person and the commited person who are at fault. Tale for instance if an employee helps someone steal for the store, by your logic all responsiblity for the theif would be the employees fault because they are the ones who made the promise to the store owner. As we know that is not how it works. Both are held accountable.
So what you are saying is that women are not responsible for their actions when they participate in affairs? That is not the world we live in. If you sleep with someone else’s spouse, you are just as guilty as the man. I just don’t understand how some people can even try to argue that you get a free pass because you are not the one who made the promise.
If the other woman knows that the man she’s with is in a relationship, they are both guilty.
Yes, the man has a direct commitment to his wife or girlfriend, but adultery requires two participants, and both are at fault.
i never said the other woman OR man, should get a free pass. i´m just saying that in many instances the other women/man is crucified, which is a little extreme because although she did do something wrong it was not her who should honor and respect you. so many times you see women going after the other women, insulting her and what not and that just seems so degrading, why would you want to quarrel with her, topp to that level? your husband is the one who should have said NO, so anything u want to say-or even fix-should be directed to your husband. and afterall, that´s my opinion and hopefully what i would do if it happened to me so u dont really have to agree

I totally agree! This is the year of affair confessions! I think that (a) money offered to the mistresses during our times of economic downturn and (b) society’s general “everybody makes mistakes, let’s just wink and forgive” sort of attitude makes it less daunting for these women to open up. They aren’t going to get a harsh label like a home-breakers or a slut that will stick with them for long. So…as soon as they feel abandoned by the lover and hungry for a little cash…they call the tabloid mags…. maybe???

Because sites like x17, JJ, and E and tabs like People mag, US Weekly, and In Touch glamorize these actions. They pat these men and womenn on the back and tell them that it’s okay. Why should these men respect their vows when x17 is writing about how happy and in love these cheaters are glowing as they depart from LAX or how People magazine says just how cute these cheaters look celebrating the one year annivesary of their affair depsite the fact that their divorces are not final. It’s only when the extreme cases (Tiger, Jesse) occur that the media and blogs want to wonder how something like this can happen.
Have you seen what Vanity Fair is doing? They have given Tiger’s Mistresses exclusives, photo spreads and the details of their affair included. Rielle Hunter is giving interviews about her affair with JE. Leann Rimes is being praised for talking about “her man” and his kids on her twitter account. And the list goes on and on.
