SNL alum Fred Armisen, Will Ferrell, Dana Carvey, Darrell Hammond, Chevy Chase, Dan Aykroyd, Maya Rudolph, and In Living Color alum Jim Carey got with Americans for Financial Reform to urge Congress to act on financial reform… with a hilarious Internet video. Did I laugh out loud? Not even once. But you know, that’s not really why you watch these things in the first place, right? Maya Rudolph always elicits giggles, though.

  • One of the primary reasons that our country is in this terrible mess is that voters can’t be bothered to inform themselves about important legal and regulatory policies. These big stars — evidently directed by Ron Howard, who did the voice-over — have taken the time to package this important information in a palatable way. Spare five !@#$!@# minutes to watch the video and educate yourself — the point of this effort is not to entertain (which it does in a reasonable fashion) but to *educate*.
