I’ve never been much of a DWTS fan, but I might be tuning in this season, because I’m pretty obsessed with the line-up they’ve put together. Here it is:
Pamela Anderson; Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco; All My Children’s Aiden Turner; ESPN reporter Erin Andrews; Shannen Doherty; former astronaut Buzz Aldrin (who just so happens to be 80); Reno 911’s Niecy Nash; Nicole Scherzinger of Pussycat Dolls fame; Olympic gold medal-winning skater Evan Lysacek; and good ol’ Kate Gosselin.
And joining them? None other than most recent Bachelor Jake Pavelka!!!
What a stellar line-up! I like how DWTS has been like a recovery center for publicly humiliated women. I mean, Erin Andrews? Kate Gosselin? (And my guess is Melissa Rycroft will be taking over co-hosting duties.) I’m also super excited to get to know Evan Lysacek a little better. I kind of have a raging crush on him after the Olympics. And I met Buzz Aldrin once. I got to shake his hand. It was like the greatest moment of my entire life. I was all like, “I just shook a moon hand.” SO EXCITING!
I cracked up when they announced Kate Gosselin. I might actually have to watch just to see her.
Nicole Scherzinger ? Already there before releasing any solo album ? I thought the others PCD would downgrade on ths show, not her.
I thought she did release one right after PCD came out but it bombed. Can anyone confirm this? Maybe she cancelled the release…
You’re right, she did record a solo album, but it was never released (2 singles flopped). So she came back with the PCD to become a bigger star, like Fergie did with the BEP.
I though 2010 would be “her” year, trying to become a big solo superstar… but starring on DWTS doesn’t sound good.
Thanks for the info! Yeah, I always thought Nicole had the chops to make it big solo considering most of the attention has been on her anyway with PCD. She just needs a really great manager and producer and to split from Robin Antin who is basically a madam to those hos. DWTS is certifiably not a good sign-agreed.

Seeing as the US version of Dancing with the Stars doesn’t air in Australia – what I get out of this is that Beet met Buzz Aldrin. And that is almight awesome. I have met Ross Noble. Google him.
Isn’t it sort of unfair they let that Nicole Sherzinwhatsherface on this? Isn’t part of the whole PCD thing to be a dancer? I dunno – seems like we already have the winner.
I’m secretly worried for Buzz (well, I guess not secretly anymore). He’s 80 for crying out loud! I am excited to see Kate Gosslin though, I know she’ll say she’s “doing it for her kids”.

as for Kate Gosselin, UGH I hope she’s the 1st one to go. I loved J & K +8 at first, but it breaks my heart to see what’s become of the whole thing. Doing it for the kids? Being away from them for how long while she’s out in Cali? And I wonder if Jon will let them be filmed for show segments… I do miss seeing them!

I could see that. She’s gorgeous and uber-talented. And he’s handsome too- he just has severe gay-face. But obviously just because someone has gay-face, doesn’t mean they’re gay, but if there’s a guy who’s even slightly feminine-looking or has effeminate mannerisms, I won’t date him. I have to have an uber-masculine guy, like my husband Dolph Lundgren. ;-)

Boo, Evan Lysacek. Also, many rumors have it that Nastia Liukin and some skater girl he previously “dated” are totally both Beards. They’re trying to make male figure skating look more masculine… so they want their champions to not be openly and flamboyantly gay. Hence the gross, gross underscoring of the amazing Johnny Weir. Put him on DWTS… then I’d watch.
Team Johnny Weir! Both those girls were totally Evan’s beards. I think it is pretty ridiculous that figure skating, like ballroom dancing, tries to pretend that they can be uber-masculine. Especially when the people they hold up as being the “butch” ones, Evan, wear freaking feather gloves and jewel encrusted snakes. C’mon now people, embrace it and stop holding people like Johnny down!

Speaking of beards though, what I wouldn’t give to spend a few weeks posing as Johnny’s beard. Of course, he’s way too awesome to ever want or need a beard but a girl can dream. He’s so shiny and pretty. Why aren’t straight guys that gorgeous?
Truthfully Sasha, I think this is one of the WORST line-ups yet! I only remotely care about Buzz, Evan, Erin and Niecy. It’s obvious that Evan and Pussy Cat girl are going to be the top two. They are already bound to be way ahead of the competition with their backgrounds and I can see both of them getting a lot of votes.
If I watch, I’d be afraid Pam would pop something every time she dances. I don’t want to deal with the “single mom doing it for the kids” speech we are bound to hear weekly from Kate. I hate the PCD’s. I’m afraid Buzz will collapse from a heart attack. I can’t even imagine how much more orange Evan is going to be since they seem to spray tan everyone before a show. Erin will probably be a snooze. I have no clue who this Aiden guy is. Shannen will assume her typical bitch role and I will get sick of it quickly. So I guess Michael Vick wasn’t available since they went with OchoCinco?
