I was shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Johnson & Johnson heiress and frequent tabloid guest star Casey Johnson. She was found yesterday morning at her home in LA, and authorities say she’d been dead for some time before that. Casey adopted daughter Ava from Kazakhstan in 2007, but she had been living with Casey’s mother because Casey couldn’t get her drug problem under control. The LA County coroner said that he did not suspect foul play in Casey’s death, and the cause of death would not be known for several weeks, while they wait to get the toxicology results back.

I don’t have it in me right now to do the entire drug rant again. But, look, if being a beautiful, thin, wealthy mother with all the opportunities and options and doctors in the world can’t save your life from the terrors of a drug addiction, how much better do you think your own odds are? Just don’t do it.

Hello loves!

This is a request I’ve been getting in my inbox ever since the advent of cordless phones, it feels. It only took me like four years to get around to doing it. No, we don’t have an iPhone app, but the site has been optimized for viewing on a mobile browser, specifically iPhone, BlackBerry, and other higher-end devices. I think for those of you who read this site on your phone, it will make your lives much much easier. (Zelda Lily has been optimized for web viewing as well.)

If you don’t like it, there will be a little button at the bottom of the main page that says “Mobile Theme.” Switch it to “Off” and the site will go back to normal for you.

We’re still working out a bunch of the kinks, so email me or leave it in the comments if you’re having trouble using the mobile version of the site.

Thanks!

xoxo

It dropped today. I don’t have an opinion, really. I love her voice and I think she’s talented, and I certainly wouldn’t cringe if this came on the radio. It’s not really one of my favorites out of her, though. I miss the old days when her songs would make obscure literary references and that’s how I learned to pronounce Anais Nin’s name.

Remember that pretty face? The son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal, Redmond O’Neal? Well, I guess being behind bars while his mother died wasn’t enough to shake him straight, because he’s been arrested yet again on drug charges. Worst part? He left court ordered rehab to go score. You know that’s going to buy him some more time in lockdown.

From People:

The troubled son of the late Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O’Neal was busted on a drug violation on Dec. 29, a Los Angeles DA spokeswoman said Tuesday. He had been undergoing in-patient rehab since September.

At a hearing Tuesday, Judge Michael Tynan ordered Redmond, 24, into a 30-day jail rehab facility pending a Feb. 2 sentencing hearing for violating probation.

“It seems to me you haven’t got a clue as to what recovery means,” Judge Tynan lectured Redmond, who was nervously shaking his leg while wearing a blue L.A. County jail jumpsuit. “It’s a lifetime commitment. It’s grinding, hard, painful work.”

Is anyone else really sick and tired of seeing rich kids screw up on their parents dime? Sure, he’s paying the consequences, but he’s not learning any lessons and that’s why he keeps winding back up in jail. If anything, he’s just costing tax payers money at this point and it’s a real shame because if anyone could afford to go to rehab, it’s a celebrity’s kid. I have a feeling that Redmond is either going to straighten out on his own and go Born Again on us or he’ll just die. The courts aren’t getting through to this kid, so I’m thinking those are the only options, unfortunately.

I gave up on Harry Potter after the second movie, so I don’t really think I’ve ever taken a moment to notice what a babe Emma Watson is. Sorry to be tardy to that party, guys. She’s adorable, and these ads that she’s done for Burberry’s 2010 spring/summer line (which I was able to cop form some fansite) are fantastic. I covet every single jacket in this spread and at least two of the bags. Also, I have to give Emma props for keeping it classy with a Burberry endorsement. Any other designer and they probably would have skanked her out, but she’s able to get that fashion-spread credibility now without any of the flack.

Where the hell has Mischa Barton been the last couple of months? Apparently transforming herself from a television actress to a normal chick at the mall. Between her locks, the weight gain and the completely confused, pale face, Mischa was barely recognizable when the paparazzi snapped her leaving a store on Sunset Blvd. However, getting healthy looking is typically a sign that a person’s improved their life. I’m not saying the girl looks healthy, but she’s a far cry from the Mischa that we know and hate. Perhaps she’s been using this downtime positively? (UPDATE: Um, nevermind. Just read that Mischa’s next role is going to be a hooker on Law and Order: SVU.)
