Today's Evil Beet Gossip

What Do We Think of This Person?

Hey, do we like Sarah Silverman? I like her public image, definitely. I always really sided with her after the Jimmy Kimmel break up (remember this baller move from her Emmy acceptance speech?), but I haven’t checked out her Comedy Central show in a long time or seen her do stand up. I think the closest thing to her work that I’ve seen her do recently was this video, and I wasn’t too crazy about that. So where do we stand on Sarah now? I need to hear your opinions to help me make up my mind.

  • Thumbs down on Sarah Silverman. I didn’t find her Comedy Central show (The Sarah Silverman Program) to be at all entertaining, and I had been looking forward to seeing it when it first aired.

    • Are you joking? Kathy Griffin is one of the most politically incorrect female comedians of all time! (right behind Lisa Lampanelli)

      • My problem with her isn’t that she’s way out there. It’s that she tries really, really hard to be out there and the effort shows. Oh and also that she’s not funny. Except or that Matt Damon thing. That was hilarious. But mostly because of Matt.

  • I think she’s super cute & I really wanna like her but I just don’t. I think she’s annoying. I watched several episode of her show on CC. But I didn’t think it was funny. I feel like she was trying too hard. But there is SOMETHING about her because I’d watch another show (or movie) w/ her in it. So I guess I’m still on the fence too.

  • I don’t like her. She seems to try to hard to be “cutting edge” and harsh. It’s too much, and she honestly just annoys the crap out of me. She just tries to hard to look like she doesn’t care. It’s not working.

  • Sarah seems like a sweet woman, but her comedy reminds me a bit too much of the little girl that pulls her dress up over her head for attention.

  • never have liked her. her comedy act seems to consist of her saying VAGINA a lot. comedy is a bit more than just saying dirty words and trying to be offensive. therefore, i don’t find her funny.

  • I actually think her show works better then her standup routine. She plays the same character, this incredibly naive sociopath, but something about the sitcom format makes it sort of wacky and charming. Unlike other programs with “provocative” humor, the show never comes off as mean-spirited.

I think she’s funny, like her a lot.

  • The two gay guys were, by far, the best part of her show. Her parts were like farts in the wind; a bit annoying for a second and then totally forgotten about.

  • I think Molly McNearney is way hotter than this wannabe Yenta crack-pot. I bet Molly swallows too.

  • I cannot stand her. She’s one of those nails on chalkboard people to me…the kind you have an instant and violent reaction to. I don’t find her the least bit funny…well no more like…actively unfunny…which I suppose is a talent.

    • I don’t think it’s that her comedy is hard to understand, it just seems to be the exact same kind of jokes over and over.

It’s funny once but only once.

  • Has anyone seen the Jesus is Magic special? Because that is hilarious. Weird, different, bold, and just really really funny.

“My boyfriend and I are thinking about having a baby, but it’s all about the timing. I just think that the best time to get pregnant is when you’re a black teenager.”

    COME ON

  • Sarah is like janine Garofolo. She can be funny, but half the time isn’t. And they are both in that same category of sexiness together. Not supermodels, but still very good looking and attractive.
