More Bad News For Tiger Woods

We’ve all had a ball watching Tiger Woods’ life fall apart the last two weeks, haven’t we? That multiple-mistress having bag of scum has been having his ass handed to him left and right and it’s been a freakin’ blast to watch happen. It’s also nauseating. But more than that, it’s really fun to see a person who’s been pegged as a “good guy” his whole career get called out over and over and over again for his secretly devious behavior. The gossip blogs have been pretty hard on him, but now even the United Stated Congress is calling him a douche. Indirectly, of course.

From TMZ:

Tiger Woods has officially been declared unfit for Congress — a California lawmaker is abandoning his plan to give Woods the highest Congressional award for a civilian in the wake of Tiger’s scandal.

Earlier today, Representative Joe Baca (D-Calif) released a statement saying, “In light of the recent developments surrounding Tiger Woods and his family, I will not pursue legislation awarding him the Congressional Gold Medal this session.”

Baca had previously submitted a bill to give Woods the award in recognition of his “service to the Nation in promoting excellence and good sportsmanship, and in breaking barriers with grace and dignity by showing that golf is a sport for all people.”

Yeah, it turns out that while golf may be a sport for all people, cheating on your wife with various bar flies is not. Whoops.

Perhaps this story best encapsulates one of the saddest things about this scandal. Tiger Woods served as an inspiration for so many people, young and old. He was a role model and now we’ve all found out that he’s just as flawed as our drunk uncles and he’s ruined forever.

Remember how pissed we all were at Lance Armstrong when he broke up with Sheryl Crow? And that was just a mutual break up and Lance Armstrong only has one testicle, which kind of serves as a “get out of being an asshole free” card for life? Lance is still viewed unfavorably by some people because of that, so I’m guessing Tiger Woods is pretty much dunzo. What a waste.

  • I do not understand this faux shock and outrage. Are people really so gullible that they believed he was as good as his public image? He’s a professional athlete with all the money in the world people. There is going to be temptation and I bet 97% of men in his position would be whoring it up too. I’m not saying it’s OK, and that I don’t think he’s gross for doing it – but the shock is just ridonkulous. Everyone is flawed, some more than others. And why is it “fun” to watch a family’s life unravel?

    • I agree. I haven’t had fun watching his life unravel. It’s sad, the whole thing. I also agree that a lot of people (not just men) in his given situation would do the exact same thing. It doesn’t make it right, doesn’t mean he didn’t screw up, but all this “Oh, my God, Tiger Woods is a horrible person for cheating on his wife” is hypocritical. Bill Clinton did it and people thought better of him for it, or at that very least, were saying “I don’t care what he does in his private life, he’s a good president”. Why are we expecting Tiger to be so much more than a good golfer? Just because Nike endorses him and people look up to him?
I also found it hilarious that politicians think he’s unworthy of their little award, when most of the sex scandals that come up in this country involve politicians.

    • It isn’t fun to contemplate what Tiger’s frame of mind has been. It seems like he has such a sense of entitlement, invulnerability and a reckless desperation to escape from his image and the rigid control that he’s had in his life up until now.

But what does it mean when an intelligent person is promiscuous and doesn’t practice safe sex AND wants to be married and have children? He must have known that he was endangering himself and all of those women, but to be willing to endanger his unborn children and their mother? Wow.

To me this argues for a certain despair about the value of his life, maybe of any person’s life. Supposedly he’s in love with Rachel Uchitel, but he’s been having so many sex partners – he’s not faithful to her either.

So maybe he’s a sex addict and that’s his achilles heel, possibly with drug and alcohol abuse thrown in. I wonder if he even sees himself as having any real problems or if he thinks that the only problem was getting caught.

But fun watching his life fall apart? Not really.

      • I was sad too when I watched Bambi’s mother get shot, but it didn’t keep me from eating venison.

  • Haha, Tiger! And just earlier this year Forbes was predicting you’d be the first billionaire athlete by 2010. I guess now you’ll just have to be happy with your millions and millions and millions of dollars. Oh.

  • It’s funny… politicians indirectly calling Tiger a douche. We all know politicians never cheat on their wives >.<

  • Elin needs to leave his ass now! With the children!! He owes her her freedom since he obviously wants his.

  • Here’s a guy who is paid HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS by companies every year to be their public image. With that ridiculous amount of money and press comes a responsibility to project a “favorable” public image.

All of us have given our hard-earned $$$ in one way or another to Tiger in buying his supported products – so in a way we have paid – and can chuckle a little bit over his. Though I certainly feel sorry for his wife and family.

In just days folks have gone from saying “Tiger is wonderful. Tiger is perfect” to “Tiger is a pig who goes raw with porn stars and all kinds of sluts. His dick should shrivel up and die”.

You know – he could be a pitchman for porn?

Remember, if he didn’t have that accident – WE may have never found out . Elin may have simply settled for a payout and divorced him in a year or so. Timing is everything. So’s luck.

  • What Tiger did to is wife and children wasn’t right. But the fact that his personal mistakes means he is no longer worthy of a Congressional Medal of Honor isn’t right either. Had it beena white guy, probably a bit less dumping. Look what Bush did to our country over 8 years. But I have never seen a country dump on a president as much as Barak Obama for not fixing it in 12 months. Dump on the black man. And yes, I am white and playing the race card, because its true. Tiger has in fact done a lot of good for others, more than you probably will ever do Molls. We put Tiger on that pedestal. Don’t forget, it was his father that pushed his career since he was 3 years old. His dad was his rock. And now he’s dead. Someone told me his mother is dead too (not sure). He’s human just like all of us. But he lost the people that kept him level. No one knows what his wife was like either. The fact that he has a lot of money and has been amazing golfer doesn’t give people the right to dump on him. It’s jealousy. People are more envious of his success and because they can’t be successful they jump all over Tiger when he has fallen. It’s so sad. No one needs to add to the pain. It serves NO purpose. There is so little honor in this country in how we handle these things. What Tiger did is part of his reflection of his inner self. Hopefully he will find a way to bring himself back to be the better person he was at one time. But the hate, anger, and condeming of those witnessing this is also a reflection of what is inside of them. I’ve watched, listened, and felt sad about it all. But that’s where it stops. Tiger is not my life or my role model; I don’t even know the guy. So I can’t pass judgement and neither should a lot of you. And I know, the purpose of this site is to expose celebrities and dump on them when they are rediculous. But sometimes this site can really be foul….Tom Brady has fucked his wife. Really classy. Is this who you really are? Or are you writing like this because you think its cool and will attract more readers; guiding people to be gross in the way they view things. I love a good gossip story like everyone else, but it takes talent to do it with class. To me this writing lately has been high school mentality and shows a lack of experienced writing. Sorry to dump on you today Molls, but I have followed Beet for a long time. It’s becoming more and more hateful than funny and entertaining.

  • Wait – I’m sorry Lance and Sheryl broke up, but what about how Lance dumped his wife who stood by him for so long. I still don’t like that part of his story…

    • Agreed…I don’t recall much outrage over him breaking up with Cheryl Crow…he earned his Douchebag when he left the wife who stuck by him through his cancer ordeal and their kids.

  • To the anonymous post adept at constructing a sentence completely out of swears (pretty amazing)….were you hugged as a child? Plus, what is honkey? I am actually a mixed race? Perhaps Donkey would work better for you. Instead of spewing venom, why don’t you post in normally constructed sentences what has gotten you so upset? You must have a lot of issues. Do you feel better now? I hope so. Your words would have impacted me, if I valued your opinion. But you did not post an opinion. You posted your hate. Not open to that.

    • You people that play the race card make me sick. I don’t care if you’re a fucking zebra, playing the race card is old news and you and every scumbag politician and talking head out there need to quit using it to prove a point. This shit has nothing to do with race and you know it. Tiger Woods is an idiotic piece of human garbage, whether he’s white, asian, or black. His fans and sponsors now despise him regardless of color.

  • Thanks anonymous. I appreciate you explaining how you feel. I have actually never pulled the race card. My family is a mixture of African American, Vietnamese, Native Indian, English, Scottish, and Sweedish. Yes, we look normal; no zebra stripes. But I was referring to that of the media. I do notice when ‘white’ celebrities do pretty bad stuff, it is not dragged through the mud as bad as when another race does something. And that bothers me. As far as what you think of Tiger. Whatever. That’s how you feel. I never understand though, the level of hate people show towards total strangers. It’s displaced. I really don’t care if you feel like posting another rager towards me. But I am glad you had the guts to clarify.

    • Yes, you did pull the racial card in your first post, but like most imbeciles with blinders on these days, you also chose to use the Barack Obama reference as well. Barack Obama has proven to be a maniacal liar who is sending more troops out to be murdered along with killing god knows how many innocents on a daily basis in a country that we should turn our backs on and leave. It doesn’t matter that he’s a BLACK WARMONGER because once you ignore skin color he’s just another fucking politician And that has NO relation to stupid assed Tiger Woods and his foolish ways. Since you’d probably prefer it this way, Obama should shove that Peace Prize right up his half black ass

  • Go back and reread the tone of my posts and yours. You have a lot of anger issues and attempting to take it out on me, who you do not know AT ALL. At no point have I attacked you or called you nasty words. I won’t lower myself due to your conduct. Mad with power are we? So easy to do over the net. No wonder we are at war. Not even you on a local level can talk, debate or challenge without rage, insults, and violence. I may not always be right, but I am and always will be oppen to growing. But not by your methods. Your delivery kills your message; if you have one at all. Have a nice day.
