Taylor Swift Takes Digs at Kanye and Joe Jonas on SNL

Taylor Swift hosted Saturday Night Live last night and opened the show by doing a little ditty about some things we were all hoping for her to comment on, namely Kanye West crashing her VMA speech, her terrible break up with Joe Jonas and her relationship with Taylor Lautner.

Taylor more or less confirmed that she’s dating Lautner, went pretty easy on Kanye and really slapped Joe Jonas across the face. Despite her obvious nerves, she got through the song and was a hit with the live audience. I’m sure her fans watching at home went crazy.

  • You know, the best way to show someone you’re over them is to not keep bringing them up on national television.

  • I’ve never been a die-hard fan of Taylor Swift but I do applaud her for that performance. It was down to earth and fun.

  • was hoping to hear/read Beet and/or Wendi’s comments on this. Also I thought it was more a dig at the crazy press and media speculation and attention given to those three topics in her life. She was basically saying Ok I know everyone’s been speculating if I’ll talk about these guys or have them appear on the show with me. You guys want me to talk about them, this is all I’ll say.

    • Ditto. By the comments, I’d say everyone here is fucking 14 years old.

She brings him up after MONTHS? Get over it.

  • Loved her performance! She was in a ton of skits and obviously has a good sense of humor about herself. One of the best SNL’s in awhile.

  • I thought it was adorable! Very cute, very fun and everyone knows she sings about past relationships in her songs.

  • I don’t think she was trying to be bitchy. It was funny, and I’d even say it was kind of friendly.

  • I think TayTay was very cute on SNL. The monologue usually sucks, so this was an upgrade. She tried really hard in all of her skits, and it’s not like she wrote her own material. I think her voice is weak when she sings live, but hey, how many performers sound great without the backing track? Oh Lady Gaga was impressive live on SNL, but I couldn’t get past her uncomfortable weirdo costume’o’metal’rings.

  • Us old-timers (2x her age) can say what we want about “today’s generation” – but you know what? Even our generation didn’t have anyone this pure and charming and mainstream that cool people actually ROOT for. (Except Michael from “Off the Wall” until “Thriller” – but then he went bonkers!). You go girl! Stay yourself – and la la la!

  • Pretty awesome; bitchslapped Joe Jonas very nicely! Shows she has a sense of humor; just like in the video she did with T-Pain for the CMAs.

  • I didn’t really know much about Taylor Swift before I watched that SNL, (other than media headlines) but I outright fell in love with her.
She was so genuinely humble and just adorable throughout the whole show. I even was able to get past her terrible acting.
Definitely rooting for the girl from now on.

  • It’s obvious Taylor looks back at Joe Jonas with a laugh–as though it was something that happened to her years ago. She thinks it is funny on reflection. “Like that was something that happened to me when I was a kid, but so much has happened since then.” She does not appear to give a hoot about Joe–she’s just reflecting back on silly things that upset her when she was a child, but so much has happened to her since then–she laughs about Joe now.
