Katy Perry is a gorgeous girl with a fabulously funky fashion sense, I’ll admit it. I can’t stand her music, her personality grates me more than any other famous person, but I will give her that one thing: the girl can dress herself and look cute in photos. That’s why I seriously don’t get these pictures that were just released to promote her stint hosting the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards. It’s not like these awards take place on Halloween, excusing the tranny school girl look Katy is rocking in these pictures. They are coming up on November 5th. But even if the outfit was excusable, what’s up with Perry’s face? Was she being asked to smile while someone was beating puppies with a chain behind the photographer? I’ve never seen such a forced and uncomfortable smile on anyone who wasn’t being asked to pose with their curvy, underage, bikini-clad daughter. And every.single.photo is at least as awkward as the one above. Check ‘em out yourself…

There has been endless speculation over the cause of Ashlee Simpson’s departure on the new Melrose Place and while publicly those involved with the show have been saying that it was planned for Ashlee to leave early all along, many are assuming that there’s more to the story. An insider on the set told Star Magazine that there is, in fact, more to Ashlee’s departure than is being said and it apparently has to do with the arrival of another diva: OG Melrose Place star Heather Locklear.

The two are said to have butted heads on set many times. Ashlee was caught whispering things about Heather’s age to others and Heather was fed up with Ashlee’s lack of talent and wannabe diva attitude. The producers, knowing that Heather was bound to bring some new eyes to the show and boost ratings, made the executive decision to cut Ashlee and her co-star Colin Egglesfield in order to keep Heather around.

While I can see Ashlee’s diva schtick being both obnoxious and unwarranted, I do have to say that I think Heather has to have a pretty high opinion of herself if she thinks she can get employed anywhere other than the Melrose Place set. Let’s face it: After her last few years in the headlines, she’s not exactly A-list and I can’t think of the last time that she did anything reasonable. Plus, this quote from the set insider, “Heather was jealous of Ashlee immediately. She knew Ashlee was one of the bigger names on set, and she wanted her gone so she could make it her show. Heather is very political and calculating…”, not only makes Heather sound like a bully, but it seems kind of pathetic.

Either way, I can’t imagine that this show is going to be around long enough for it to make a huge impact on either actresses career.

Taylor Swift attended Katy Perry’s crazy 25th last weekend where guests were asked to show up in all white and throughout the night had paint splashed on them by other guests. Sounds like a crazy good time, right? One of the guests got so, um… carried away with his design that he or another guest painted a swastika on his shirt. And then Taylor Swift danced by him, and even worse, took a picture with him.

Now it’s safe to assume that even though she’s underage, Taylor had a cocktail or two at the affair. While this doesn’t sound like the kinda party you need to drink away, the crowd there that night wasn’t exactly sober and Taylor’s at the age where a girl would be drinking if she were in college even though it’s not exactly legal. I would say “Look at Lindsay Lohan”, but Taylor strikes me as a pretty good girl. I also see her as a smart girl. Even if she agreed with the message that this guy was putting out there, she probably would know better than to stand with the symbol had she been aware it was there. I have the feeling that Taylor may have been seeing double from her drinks and didn’t realize what she was looking at when she agreed to pose for a shot.

Does this image change your opinion of Taylor?

“I have a restraining order in my purse over there for this one chick. She would stand in front of my house refusing to leave and then she bought a pair of $1500 Giuseppe heels in all the colors that I really love and demanded that I [take] them … so I took them straight to the police station. She was starting to creep me out, but I had a mace on me with a refill in my purse because if I was going to get her I was going to get her good. I would empty a whole canister then refill and do it again while she’s writhing in pain.”

There are no words to describe Lindsay Lohan’s promotional shots for her leggings line, 6126. Oh, except for trashy, whorey, tacky, cheap, gross, pathetic, desperate, lame, awful, unflattering, coked-out looking, scary, demented and awful. What I meant to say is that there are no words except for those words. The shots, which supposedly were taken by some big deal la-de-da photographer and styled by his ex-lover, are terribly unflattering for Lohan and make the leggings look cheap, which is ironic because they are anything but, cost-wise. A pair of those can set you back over 100 bucks. What recession, right?! I’m going to buy me some whore leggings with holes already cut up! Funny money for days!
