The girl pictured above is a die-hard Jonas Brothers fan. So die hard that she’s been waiting outside of a Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto for over a month with some of her girlfriends. OK, so maybe that’s a little scary, but you know how young fans are. I’ve heard crazier things.
The girls got to meet their idols, take photos with them several times and gave them gifts, including sketches of the boys they’d done themselves. When the Jonas Bros checked out of the hotel, the girls were shocked when a maid brought them heaps of their gifts back to them in large trash bags. Including several of the intricate sketches. Heartbroken, they asked the maid where the sketches were found. She told them that they were found in Kevin Jonas’ trash can.
While I suppose it’s a much needed reality check for these obsessive fans, I do think that there’s something heartbreaking about this. Not only would it have not been hard for an assistant to hold on to these sketches at least until they got out of the hotel, but the maid really didn’t need to drag their faces through the mud.
Tell me about it. The mean bastard threw away the used condoms he rotorooted me with too!! Kevin Jonas hates black people, ya’ll.

I’m in no way a fan of the Jonas brothers…can’t even tell you a title of one of their songs…but was it really so wrong of them to throw away the gifts? You can’t expect them to keep EVERYTHING. They get tons of crap from their obsessed fans. What about when a fan gives them a rose? Do you expect them to hang it upside down and dry it so they can keep it forever??
I think the maid was trying to be cruel. She didn’t need to bring the trash to the girls, she could have thrown it away in the proper place. I’m pretty sure the hotel is going to get a phone call from the Jonas people….she might even get fired for doing what she did.

I agree with everything you said, especially that the maid is really the one to be criticized here.
But who knows whether she was motivated by cruelty, self-righteousness, or just misguided kindness? Perhaps she thought giving them back their stuff was nice, and didn’t think it through– didn’t realize that it would actually hurt them more than if she just threw it away?

Yeah, what the maid did wasn’t very nice, but I don’t think this makes the Jonas brothers mean at all, really. Do you know how many gifts they get? I’m sure they’ve gotten thousands of sketches. It wouldn’t be possible to keep every single one. I’m sorry, but it’s true and anyone who’s mad at them for throwing that stuff away would probably do the same thing no matter what they say.

what i wanna know is, why do ppl always draw the object of their desire and gift it to that person? it’s dumb. who wants a drawing of themselves? and yeah, if you’re a celeb, how many drawings of yourself can you display or hang onto? and if you love that person so much, why not draw them & then hang up the picture in your bedroom or wherever?

i’m a big fan of paul weller… i’ve met and hung out with him a number of times. the last time i gave him a present was of one of my paintings. it was of his wife. i figured he would be happier with that than his own face. the year after giving him the painting, i saw him and he reported that it was hanging in his living room.

of course, they have since divorced, so i have no idea what happened to it. but at least he appreciated it for a while.

This story is a fake! The 4 Seasons hotel is very upscale and there is NO way the maid would be allowed to walk out the front door (past the door man) with bags of trash!!!!!!!!!!! PLus, as others have said, the pictures are not the least bit crumpled. These pictures were probably taken before they gave them to them.
However, even though I think this story is fake, I always figured that celebrities threw out fan gifts. Where would they put it all!!! I throw out stuff my kids and students make me after enjoying it for awhile. It doesn’t make them bad people. It makes them normal. Anyone upset by thinking this story is true, needs a reality check!!!
plus, if this story is actually true (doubtful), they kept everything for their entire stay before getting rid of it if the maid gave them GARBAGE BAGS FULL.

I’m going to have to call bullshit on this one. And it’s only because I have friends who work in the Yorkville area of Toronto, and friends who’ve worked at the Four Seasons in particular. There’s no way a maid would have brought out garbage bags of stuff to these stalker girls. The only interaction they would have had with any hotel staff would have been the security dudes who would have told them to stay off hotel property, once they realized the same group of girls was standing around loitering in the same spot every day.
Also, I’m going to agree with a couple of other posters on another note… if you’re such a superfan then don’t give the object of your affection A PICTURE OF THEMSELVES. It’s just wanky.
And lastly? Where the f are these girls parents? Why is she NOT in school, instead loitering outside a hotel? I’ll tell you right now, if my mom found out about me skipping school so I could stalk a star she’d have beat my butt senseless!
