Last night at the 13th Annual Human Right Campaign Dinner, which supports equal rights for all citizens, Lady Gaga took to the stage to do a cover of the John Lennon classic “Imagine”. Before her performance she said “I’m here tonight to represent those young people that are taking a stand and are going tomorrow to march with all of us.” The march, of course, is the National Equality March in Washington DC, which specifically is supporting the right for all US citizens to enter in to marriage with whomever they choose.
Her rendition of the song is only decent, but worth checking out.

The fact she can play the piano and sing somewhat on key is amazing. I thought she was a complete no talent synthesized performer…now I know at least there is SOME musical ability there. I had NO idea.

I’m really happy for all the people who marched.
The fact that she’s putting herself out there to support a great cause is commendable. More than what can be said of many others who just watch.
And for the record, I’m not a Lady Gaga fan.

Do you really support “the right for all US citizens to enter in to marriage with whomever they choose”? You think someone should be able to marry more than one person at a time? Marry a 12 year old? Marry a sibling? Marry a goat? You’re all for discrimination, you just want it to be discrimination you happen to agree with. There are two intellectually honest positions: 1) support marriage as a historical institution, and 2) support marriage as something entirely private, in which case you have no right to deny marriage to polygamists, people with child brides, and those whose lifestyle choices include incest and bestiality.
I didn’t know Elizabeth Hasslebeck (the one who preaches that if gay marriage is approved, people will marry their dogs) reads Evil Beet! Welcome!
The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) does support rights for all people but it primary works for lesbian, gay bisexual, and transgender equal rights.
JR- really? Really?? Where is that even coming from? The HRC is looking to further rights for Adult LGBT people, not children or animals. Two of age people, who are able to enter into contracts and whom love each other. As well as people not getting fired from their jobs for being “different” or being harassed or assaulted for being who they are. Try and think before you speak/write.
