One of the members of the Irish boy band “Boyzone” died in Spain yesterday while on vacation with his partner, Andrew. No details regarding his death have been released yet.
The singer was on the island of Majorca when he passed away and enjoying time alone with his boyfriend while he awaited the arrival of his bandmates.
I was a little bit too old to be in on the boy band craze by the time that Boyzone made it in the US, and the band actually broke up for several years, from 2000-2008, while the members broke off to make an attempt at solo careers. They reunited to much fanfare in their home country of Ireland, where they were undoubtedly celebrated the most. Just last year they released their greatest hits record, “Back Again … No Matter What”.

I found out because Louis Walsh (Boyzone manager for those who don’t know) wasn’t on the X Factor tonight – I phoned my sister asking where mole-man was and she told me he was off because he was mourning. I didn’t even have the heart to make any special mole-man/Boyzone jokes.

steven will be missed I remember boyzone when they first started out and how great they were and still are. Being irish myself I felt it was great for irish singers to do so well. steven was a lovely singer and I feel he died way to soon. steven was always my favourite in the band. RIP steven gately.
