Harper’s Bazaar is running an article on Jennifer Aniston in its October issue in which the actress shares her perspectives on relationships, staying together and where it all goes wrong.
The ex-wife of Brad Pitt, ex-girlfriend of Vince Vaughn and more recently of John Mayer tells the magazine that she knows what makes a relationship fail.
“I think it’s laziness,” she says. “I think a good relationship is about collaboration. I think you just need to talk to each other. Say what you need. Say what you want. That way it’s not threatening. You just need to say, ‘This is important to me.’ Don’t expect your mate to read your mind.”
And, you know, I tend to agree with a lot of what she’s saying here. Jen also says that women who are doing all the cooking and cleaning have no right to complain.”I think that’s because it’s just instinctual as a woman to be the caretaker of your home. Women complain that men don’t do enough, but it’s your own fault. You train your man to do nothing. You can’t blame someone for not knowing what his or her job should be if you don’t ask for it right off the bat.” I think most women feel that they shouldn’t have to ask; the guy should just know. It doesn’t work that way. Ask.
For a refreshing change, the closest Jen came to talking about her husband ex-husband, Brad Pitt, was in speaking of closure. ”I think it’s important to have closure in any relationship that ends – from a romantic relationship to a friendship. You should always have a sense of clarity at the end and know why it began and why it ended. You need that in your life to move cleanly into your next phase,”
There was talk at the beginning of the summer that Lindsay Lohan was in talks with design house Emmanuel Ungaro to come on as an artistic consultant. Well the head designer who was having kittens over the prospect is out — and Linds is in.
After the July departure of Esteban Cortazar, the top guy at Ungaro who vehemently opposed Lohan joining the team, the company brought on relative unknown Estrella Archs to team up with relative too-known Lindsay Lohan. The goal is catch the eye and wallet of a younger demographic in hopes of saving the struggling label.
Mounir Moufarrige, Ungaro’s chief executive officer, is already relishing the prospect of that image running in newspapers and on Web sites around the world, bringing a lightning bolt of attention — good, bad or otherwise — to a French brand that has severely lacked it as it endured a revolving door of designers and lackluster collections.
“Odds are it could work,” Moufarrige said, disclosing the appointments exclusively to WWD. “Everything we’re going to get is going to be a plus. I think the noise level around Lindsay will be very, very big.”
What does this mean for Linds’ stalkers? Well, for one thing, it means that she’s dressing a hell of a lot better when she’s seen out and about. I put up a few pics of the designer/singer/producer/model taken this weekend She seems to have branched out from flannel shirts and leggings. Bras are still presenting a challenge for her at this time.
Singer Christina Milian eloped with music producer The Dream — just how egotistical do you have to be to name yourself “The Dream”? — last Friday in Vegas. I’m not sure how long these two have been together, but a steady stream of pictures of them as a couple have been on the wire since January.
The bride rented a dress, veil and shoes for $200 and the groom wore a $100 tux. They tied the know at the Little White Wedding Chapel, which may sound familiar to you as it was also the site of Britney Spears’ betrothal to her husband of 72 hours, Jason Alexander.
Good luck to the couple! You’ve already beaten Britney’s and Jason’s record!
Travis Barker just Tweeted a link to this DJ AM tribute video a few hours ago. According to the video description, it was the same montage that was played at Adam’s memorial service. It’s interesting to see pictures of Adam at different stages in his life. His appearance was so drastically different pre- and post-gastric bypass surgery. And then there was his shoe collection — 600 pairs.
With the link, Travis posted the message : “This vid makes me smile from ear 2 ear and tear at the same time, miss u homie.”
Christian Audigier knows how to stay in the spotlight. If you remember, he’s the Ed Hardy clothing designer that aligned himself with Jon Gosselin a few months ago. I don’t know what happened to their planned children’s clothing line, but Audigier has a new project awaiting him now.
Do you recall that huge Holmby Hills mansion that Michael Jackson was renting at the time of his death? It was a strangling $100,000 a month lease and Christian will be the next tenant with the privilege of writing that monthly check. He moves in when Michael’s lease ends on December 15th.
At this time, he says the home will be for his private residence and he has no plans to open it to the public. This is Christian Audigier we’re talking about, so let’s just wait and see.
The home is owned by Ed Hardy CEO Hubert Guez. No word if the walls are covered in roses, skulls and douches.
Pictures are being released on a near-daily basis from the Sex And The City 2 set — I’ll only torture you with them on the slow news days. It’s so funny to see all the media outlets trying to piece together what the plot could be based on a few still images. Um, howsabout we just wait to see what it’s about when it comes out in the theater? I know, I know. SATC has a rabid fan base.
The fashion looks pretty terrific in the scenes shot today and if you look closely you can see Cynthia Nixon’s real-life love Christine Mariononi in one of the pictures with Kristin Davis.
She. Is. Marvelous. Seriously marvelous. And super gorgeous. I am not generally a fan of short hair, on guys or girls (late ’90s men’s fashion was a nightmare for me, and I was only in middle school), but she looks so...
I would like to tell you that the term “retard” is very offensive to me. I am not offended because I ASSUME it would offend someone who has mental retardation. I am offened on how the word came to...
