This is for all you Glee and Kristin Chenoweth fans out there. I have yet to catch the critically acclaimed Fox show myself, but everyone I know seems to love it, even though the last two episodes failed to deliver the goods the way the pilot did. However, things will probably start looking up for the show tomorrow night as the pint-sized woman with the huge voice made popular (haha, get it?) for her role in Wicked never fails to disappoint audiences.
As I mentioned yesterday, Tom Cruise is Boston filming Wichita with Cameron Diaz. Today some photos were taken of the actor joy riding on a Massachusetts Highway Patrol motorcycle sans helmet, looking all kinds of crazy in the face. Yes, I am positive that this shot was taken before they were filming and not for a scene, and I’m pretty sure that riding a motorcycle without a helmet is not only illegal in Massachusetts, but very very dangerous. Why the father of three thought it would be a good idea to take on such a big bike with out any protection (and no, his experience on other bikes is no excuse as far as I’m concerned) is beyond me, but so are most of the things this actor has done for the past decade or so. I also have to wonder who the cop was who handed the bike over to Cruise and whether or not these photos are going to get him in any trouble.
Tom should just stick to jumping on couches when he wants a thrill.
Investigators have closed the case on Adam Goldstein (known as DJ AM) after ruling it to be an accidental overdose. When Goldstein was found in his apartment, he had six Oxycontins in his stomach, as well as one lodged in his throat. He had several other drugs in his system, including cocaine, hydrocodone, Ativan, Klonopin, Xanax, Benadryl and Levamisole, a drug that is often cut with cocaine. When he was found, there was also a crack pipe next to his body.
The cause of death is the same thing that killed Heath Ledger, an uneducated mix of over-the-counter and prescription drugs that would be lethal in anyone’s system. As we’ve said time and again around here, this death is particularly tragic as Goldstein, a recovering crack addict, had been sober for about nine years when he passed away. The relapse has been attributed to everything from the guilt he suffered after being one of the only two survivors in a plane crash (along with buddy and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker) and the recent break up of him and his model girlfriend, Hayley Wood.
Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odem may have had their wedding ceremony on Sunday, but as far as the law is concerned, the two aren’t married. The pair has yet to obtain their marriage license because there’s still some ironing out to do on the pre-nup front and things are getting kind of ugly. Lawyers for each party are going head-to-head to make sure that their client isn’t screwed over should a divorce happen. Odem’s lawyer has apparently brought an agreement to the table that Kardashian’s lawyer doesn’t seem to find agreeable at all.
While comment from either party has yet to be released, I can only imagine that the honeymoon is reeeeeeeeeal awkward.
Shenae Gimes gave quite the interview to Kyle Buchanan at Movieline and held nothing back when asked about her former Degrassi co-stars, Nina Dobrev (who Degrassi fans know as Mia) and Aubrey Graham (the rapper who blew up this summer under the name Drake.) While everything I’ve heard about Shenae around town has been nothing but positive, she sure seems to have some negative feelings about her pals from up north, even if she buries them with backhanded compliments. Here’s what she had to say:
On Nina: “I think I was the first kid, really, to get work in the States and make that break. It’s really hard as a Canadian actor to make a footprint in the States, because of the visa stuff. I’m so proud, though, and so blown away; like, what a fluke, Nina getting the lead in Vampire Diaries a year after 90210. Props to her, though: She’s always been a star. She’d not been on Degrassi that long, and I knew from the first year she was on it, I was like, “This girl’s going to go far.” I’m not shocked at all.”
On Drake: “He’s been rapping and whatever for years, but none of us really expected it to blow up like it did. We didn’t really know if he walked the walk because he didn’t really share that side of his life with us: It was Aubrey Graham of Degrassi, and then that Drake world was a different world for him. This is the first time that I’m really seeing it and he’s just huge! None of us really kept in touch, which is a shame, but I’m so unbelievably proud that he’s made it despite all that.”
Her comments about Nina and Aubrey may come off as sweet enough, but deep in there are a lot of words you don’t use for friends. She seems to think Drake is a faker and Nina only landed her gig on Vampire Diaries based on sheer luck and the fact that she made it so much easier for Canadian actresses to have a chance at acting on shows here in the States.
The rest of the interview is mainly 90210 gossip, but she does dive in to the frustrations she’s experienced playing the smiley Annie and how even she hated her character for most of the first season.
Keep it down to earth, girl! Remember your humble Canadian roots!
Lindsay Lohan and her little sister Ali, who looks like she’s been sucking down Seagram’s wine coolers and chain smoking since she was in utero, arrived at Charles de Gaulle International Airport yesterday. Lindsay was wearing her new standard Kurt Cobain meets Crocodile Dundee get up and Ali, who obviously hasn’t been taking PR lessons from her sister, stayed in the background where it was hard for the cameras to see her. Whatever these two are planning on doing during their vacation, it’s bound to be interesting since Lohan is a full-blown trainwreck and her baby sis has done a pretty good job keeping her name out of the headlines for unsavory activities. Unless Lindsay plans on taping Ali to a chair in their hotel room, I doubt that she’ll be up to her usual antics with her younger sibling in tow.
She. Is. Marvelous. Seriously marvelous. And super gorgeous. I am not generally a fan of short hair, on guys or girls (late ’90s men’s fashion was a nightmare for me, and I was only in middle school), but she looks so...
I would like to tell you that the term “retard” is very offensive to me. I am not offended because I ASSUME it would offend someone who has mental retardation. I am offened on how the word came to...
