Today's Evil Beet Gossip

Tom Cruise is Insanely Dangerous

As I mentioned yesterday, Tom Cruise is Boston filming Wichita with Cameron Diaz. Today some photos were taken of the actor joy riding on a Massachusetts Highway Patrol motorcycle sans helmet, looking all kinds of crazy in the face. Yes, I am positive that this shot was taken before they were filming and not for a scene, and I’m pretty sure that riding a motorcycle without a helmet is not only illegal in Massachusetts, but very very dangerous. Why the father of three thought it would be a good idea to take on such a big bike with out any protection (and no, his experience on other bikes is no excuse as far as I’m concerned) is beyond me, but so are most of the things this actor has done for the past decade or so. I also have to wonder who the cop was who handed the bike over to Cruise and whether or not these photos are going to get him in any trouble.

Tom should just stick to jumping on couches when he wants a thrill.

    • Beet’s probably busy writing something about herself. That seems to be what she enjoys most these days. That and posting advertisements and the occasional Jon Gosselin update. Get used to it… this site has gone down the toilet. It’ll feel better once you accept that.

  • it might not be illegal to ride without a helmet, i know it’s legal in maine. don’t feel like lookin it up tho

  • Tom Cruise is a total moran with superhuman powers, so why would he need to wear a helmet like other mere mortals? He is invincible and our standard laws do NOT apply to him, he is above the law…he lives by Scientology Law. I’m surprised his feet could touch the pedals!

  • it may not be for a scene, but there are no drivers visible in 3 of the cars behind him (the only 3 cars in which the driver’s seat is visible in that shot leading one to conclude there aren’t drivers in any of the cars). so it doesn’t appear that he’s driving on the open road.

    • If you look closely, the first two cars in the picture are actually police cars. So I agree that while it may not have been for a scene, it probably was in between scenes and he wasn’t on the open road with other drivers.

  • I’m from WA. People in Massachusetts drive on the frickin shoulder which really scares the shit out of me. When I’m exiting the freeway I hate looking over my right shoulder to see if some moron is blazing past me in the shoulder. Yeah, so Mass seems to have lax traffic laws.

  • Normally I wouldn’t comment on a post like this, but I find myself thinking that this is a whiny BS post. I’m annoyed that I even wasted time reading it. And now I’m annoyed I even wasted time commenting.

    • I feel the same way. Maybe we’ll soon get reports here of Jon Gosselin jaywalking or Mel Gibson eating red meat.

    • Agreed. The author needs to lighten up on this one. Let’s not jump to conclusions on this one. First of all, who cares — it’s Tom Cruise. Second of all, it looks like he’s probably just putting around on it on the set and not exactly doing wheelies. If so, as he’s an experienced rider, this should be no big deal. And third of all, why bring his kids into the picture? Does anyone really think that if anything serious happened to him they wouldn’t be well cared for? Hell, they might even be better off being free of all that Scientology goofiness.

  • Okay, as far as I know only passenger’s on bike’s need to wear a helmet in Mass. Oh and lethermank, folks drive in the breakdown lane not on the “shoulder” as you say because when the work-day is done the breakdown lane is open to in an attempt to try and reduce traffic. I’m not from Mass. but have been there and have been a passenger on the back of bike there.

  • I’m fairly certain that bikers are required to wear helmets in MA. Bikers in NH always complain about how they need to put one on when they’re crossing the border, as opposed to Live Free and Die in NH.
