It’s Never Too Early to Get Them in High Heels

Katie Holmes, Suri Cruise

Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise have been spotted walking around Boston today.  Suri’s dad Tom Cruise is filming a movie with Cameron Diaz right down the street from where I live so they are in town.

What do you think of Suri in her little wedge peep-toes?  Seems appropriate for a three-year-old, no?

    • When you look closely, the sole of the shoe has come loose. Looks to me like the little girl was playing dress-up in mommy’s shoes and was allowed to wear them outside for a change!

No problems guys. Her feet are not molested in any way by her crazy parents! Just a little kid playing!

  • My three year old niece has a pair of hot pink 1 1/2 inch light up disney princess heels. She wears them every where. They were for playing dress up, but now it’s easier to let her wear them than it is to listen to her screaming and crying in the morning.

I think they’re cute, and as long as she can walk in them… *Shrugs*

    • I used to wear Princess shoes at that age; I remember a lot of my kindy friends also doing the same. Pretty mainstream in my memory..

  • Well I had a pair at that age… that I LOVED.

And mine were way for fancier… they has Lucite heels with glittery tops. Oh how I loved those shoes. And how my Mother wanted to kill my Grandmother for buying them for me.

They were princess shoes… that the local toy store stocked for little girls for play time.

And I have seen little girls to this day… out in their glittery play shoes.

So I see nothing wrong with Suri showing off hers. You have to pick your battles with little girls when it comes to the glittery things they love at this age.

    • Why do you keep… typing like this? It’s really… hard to understand. I wish you… would knock it off please.

      • If this “…” is capable of throwing off your ability to read maybe you should go back to first grade because you clearly haven’t mastered it yet. While improper use of punctuation is annoying people who have to make a big deal out of it are more annoying.

  • I hope someone shows this to Suri’s pediatrician, as the bones in her feet are not fully calcified, meaning that dope Katie is setting her child up for a lifetime of pain and foot problems, honestly what is wrong with people – children aren’t accessories or toys to dress up they are small people who need proper sturdy footwear that keeps the bones in place UNTIL YOU ARE 12 YEARS OLD! Then get them low heels if you are intent on your child looking like a hooker.

What a stupid thing to do.

    • My mom thinks the same way, but when i was little I use to wear my mom’s clothes and shoes and believe me they weren’t like suri , they were really high, she is just a kid and she wants to wear them, don’t tell me you never had that??? or maybe you didn’t and you don’t understand what is that feeling of wearing high heels to feel like a grown up

      • As long as she is not wearing them on a daily basis I really fail to see the issue, any doctor will tell you flip flops are just as bad for your back as high heels an I bet all of your children wear them.

  • I remember when I was a little kid how much I loved wearing high heels. I would just scream and argue with my mom until she would let me wear them, so cut Katie a little slack. Also, I am in love with that dress!

      • Wow, I guess I’m not getting it then. The t-shirt doesn’t match, the balloons are horrible. Looks like they made it from some ugly receiving blanket. my child never would be caught wearing that

      • I do hope you realize that you’re commenting and ragging on a 3 year old child. Way to go. She’s adorable. And, get this, she’s THREE YEARS OLD!!! Geez, you’re awful!

  • You know, sometimes 3 year olds get this idea in their head that they aren’t leaving the house unless they’re wearing their favourite dress-up shoes. And is it worth it to argue? For all you know, Katie has Suri’s sensible shoes tucked away in the car for when the kid realizes that her feet hurt.

  • The high heels aren’t for fashion. It is just that Tom and Katie think that having her head/gray matter even just two more inches closer to the secret/mystical energy waves raining down from the cosmos which are emanating from the Ass of the Grand PuhBah and contain the truths and wisdom of the universe (for only a measly 20% of your annual gross income) will help guide her in life to hopefully become as successful and as loved, and as admired, and as revered, as her parents.(cough….choke…gag!)

    PRAISE THE ALIENS!

    • and you clearly know nothing about Scientology :|
Which is funny, I’m very vehemently against it, but at least i have the brains to learn about WHY it is stupid before i make fun of it, so at least anything i say has some bearing to the actual religion :|

  • I dont think they are *too* bad. Suri seems to be a very girly girl. At least her outfit is respectable and cute! I saw other pics of her wearing her usual ballet flats too.

  • lots of little girls where heels i know when i was younger i would play dress up all the time and go out in public with my costumes creations.

let the kid be a kid – she’s adorable!

i doubt this will happen, but i really hope that this girl can lead a normal life when she’s grown up.

  • Just judging by the photo… it looks like she was playing “dress up” with the purse and the heels. Seems harmless to me as long as it’s not everyday that they let her wear the heels.

  • I used to teach three and four year olds, and it made me FURIOUS when parents would send their children to school in high heels.

It’s only cute and harmless until they try to run and fall over.

Or worse yet, realize they CAN’T run, and have to sit down and watch other children play because of their parents poor decisions.

  • This whole discussion makes me sad. I’m so sick of women giving other women a hard time about everything. Feed organic, cloth diapers, this and that. Let it be.

  • Mmhm, everyone is making this look like it’s big deal when it’s really not. My little sister is 6 and she’s been loving heels since she was about 3. I mean, she has this Disney princess-little-heels and there’s no way she take them off. She wears them all the time. So I think there’s no need to freak out. Come on, she’s a kid! And she’s not wearing HUGE high heels. Chill people!

  • SHE LOOKS STUPID! YES I SAID STUPID. WELL SHE HAS A CRAZY FATHER AND A STUPID MOTHER SO I GUESS THAT’S WHAT FOLLOWS, THANK GOS THE OTHER TWO ARE ADOPTED….

  • It’s not like her parents are practicing Chinese foot binding! The shoes are probably something she loves and wanted to wear them out. And she’s totally rock’n that skirt!

  • I would like to quote the most beloved PSA of all time. “I learned it from watching you, Dad! I LEARNED IT FROM WATCHING YOU!”

  • Give them a break,i admit Tom and Katie irritate the life out of me but you try and stop a 3 year old from wearing a pair of sparkly shoes.Little Suri looks so proud of those shoes and believe you me sometimes it’s easier to give in to a 3 year old than have her having a mega tantrum.I know from experience.

  • Don’t know what I think of this….But I do know that I’m so glad Im not a celebrity, or else every little thing I do gets unnecessarily scrutinized.

  • A Paris Hilton in the making!
Congrats Tom & Katie, good job.
Maybe she can get a tattoo upon entering kindergarten.

  • You people have a screwed up sense of what’s ok and what’s not. The bigger issue is that somehow it’s OK for paparazzi to take pictures of little children. It’s not. Nor is it ok to post them on websites. What ever happened to children being off limits? Sheesh, it was a good enough rule for the mafia, but not for these people.

As far as the shoes, anyone with little girls know that they love to dress up. This is ONE picture of a three year old wearing heels. Why would you leap to the assumption that this is a regular thing and her feet will be forever ruined?

People need to get off the blogs and get some fresh air.

    • I totally agree! She’s three. She is not a celebrity, her mother and father are. I also think it’s pretty sick that they’re taking pictures of her. Why the fascination with celebrity kids? It’s so creepy.

  • You try getting a toddler to wear shoes they don’t WANT to wear. It’s nearly impossible. Besides, when I took my daughter shoe shopping at age 6, we went to three stores and found exactly TWO pairs of shoes in her size that were legitimate flats. And she hated them both.

  • “It’s never too early to get them in high heels”

It is also never too early to get her parents on medication.

    “Invega” maybe? Nothing too strong.
We wouldn’t want Tom falling off Oprahs couch or anything.

  • Yeah, we all had those stupid princess heels, but Suri is clearly wearing these in the street.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, a thousand wrongs. Irresponsible and stupid. She’s a child, not a doll. I’m sure she loves those shoes, but she’d love a thousand puppies and a kilo of candy if you gave it to her – doesn’t mean she should have them!

    Idiotic.

  • Wow! Am I the only chick in the world that screamed and ran at the prospect of wearing a dress or *shudder* pantyhose as a child? How could I climb a tree or ride my bike in heels!? Since I have a son I can’t speak form experience, however I have no doubt that I would keep a special box of dress up clothes for my daughter and allow her to traipse around the house pretending to be 30. But I don’t like this look on children, its seems uncomfortable and honestly a little creepy. I hope Katie has a pair of sneakers if Suri wants a bout of impromptu romping and play. Although I usually only see Suri holding onto Tom or Katie for dear life. I much prefer Shiloh’s sword toting, fedora wearing style, looks like a lot more fun…
