I’m pretty sure that most of you are aware of my feelings about Tila Tequila at this point. Just based on her Twitter activity that I’ve observed, she’s carried on about having people break into her house, she said she was pregnant, she said she had to go to the hospital because she was about to pass out. Nothing ever materializes from these statements she puts out.
Putting that aside, I was very sad to hear about the alleged abuse she suffered over the weekend at the hands of her boyfriend, San Diego Chargers star Shawne Merriman. Even talentless famewhores don’t deserve to suffer at the hands of another — not Tila, not even Mischa. And though I feel she may be truth-challenged, I’d never want to turn my back on a victim, especially one brave enough to come forward.
Today, there seems to be a new angle to the story — an angle which basically equates to “It never happened.” Merriman was released and no charges have been filed. He released a statement through Fox News:
“On September 6, 2009 the San Diego Sheriff’s Department responded to a citizen’s complaint that was initiated by Tila Nguyen (aka Tila Tequila). I was taken into custody based upon that complaint. At the time, I was concerned about her welfare given the intoxicated state she appeared to be in and I encouraged her to stay until safe transportation could be provided.
“We would all do our best to help a friend if we considered their actions to be detrimental to their personal safety. I in no way caused any harm to Ms. Nguyen, however, paramedics were called and she was examined but no injuries were reported. She was released and has since returned to Los Angeles, California.
“There have been no charges filed against me. I want to thank the San Diego Sheriff’s Department for their professionalism. I will continue to cooperate fully with the Department, and I look forward to clearing my name regarding these false allegations. I want to put this behind me so I can continue to focus on a successful season for the San Diego Chargers.”
Tila rebutted Shawne’s version of events (through her Twitter account, natch), saying “”I am allergic to alcohol. It has been publicly known for years. That is how I got the name Tila “Tequila” cuz the irony. I cant drink.”
I don’t know who’s lying, but I hope the truth comes out in the end. Domestic abuse is wrong on every level as is a false accusation of domestic violence.

Something happened, however since she is a habitual liar, I am more incline to think his story is true – it makes sense, rather than her “ironic” excuse. Being allergic to alcohol is an excuse often used by alcoholics who can’t actually admit the disease. I think if her story was true she would be milking it with People and the other rags dragging out her 15 minutes rather than some sort of lame twitter.

she is lying (i think) she has stated before that she is allergic to alcohol but she still likes to drink. it’s probably more of an intolerance than actual allergic reaction.
also, on her show, she was drinking a lot and she has a history of drug abuse. i’m sure there a pics of her drunk too.
this is sad, but i googled this up and here’s a link where she talks about how she drinks and how the “allergic reaction” usually doesn’t bother her much. i just thinks it’s really wrong to lie about being abused and if i were merriman i would sue her for slander or defamation or whatever he’s allowed to do.

She might actually mean she is allergic to alcohol. There is a phenomenon known as “alcohol flush” or “asian flush” where people of certain ethnic descents cannot metabolize alcohol properly and become symptomatic after one or two drinks. The main symptom is becoming red faced but there are other symptoms including drowsiness and dizziness.
Alcoholics aren’t allergic to alcohol, quite the opposite, their bodies have adapted to run with alcohol in them. That’s why alcoholics get withdrawal symptoms when they quit abruptly. If you are allergic to something and remove it you would immediately feel better, not worse.
yes, she maybe allergic, but that obviously hasn’t stopped her from drinking. i have some asian friends who get really red when they drink – i guess the asian flush thing, but they still drink!
People have it to different degrees. Some people just flush, others get nauseous and vomiting, some get dizzy and seem really drunk after just one or two drinks. I had a friend in college that had it and she would drink one beer and you’d swear she had had five or six beers. Acted completely drunk.

Before he came out with his statement a friend of his tweeter about the facts…that she was drunk and he tried to keep her from leaving so she called police, but there were witnesses there at the time that could confirm that nothing happened.
This girl is the same one that tweets every athlete, rapper, celebrity she can find asking for a hookup. She is a disgusting fame whore who will go to any length for a headline. I’m just glad that the talented Merriman’s career will not be affected by her pathological, pathetic actions.

Tila Tequila is a pathological liar. She lied about what happened after the first shot at love season. She lied about her grandmother dieing. She lies about not drinking (irregardless if she’s allergic to alcohol or not).
SM is no saint, but there are dozens of witnesses that said nothing happened. There were no marks on her when she went in to the hospital.
This is ridiculous and obviously for fame and/or money.
I have lots of asian friends and a handful of them turn red when they drink even 1 or 2 drinks. VERY RED…..but they all still drink. A couple of them called it an allergy… one of friends hates drinking because she turns very very red…. but when everyone else is having a good time, she will eventually give in. Its not going to kill them, they just turn red and most of them drink wayyyy more then I do especially hard liquor but that makes no real reference.
So hearing Tila’s excuse… for ‘not be able to drink’ is pathetic!! It’s her way out. And the fact that she has to release statements from her twitter and her myspace…makes it more FAKE. Why would the an Diego Sheriff’s Department release a false statement? Lets see twitter or an Diego Sheriff’s Department ?? Who to believe? But If she is telling the truth then something very wrong is going on here.
I think Grant put this into perspective well enough. She HAS lied MULTIPLE times, and is KNOWN for craving attention, in fact that IS what got her famous is it not? It certainly wasn’t TALENT. And yes, we have all established that she most likely DOES have an allergy but so do a majority of Asian’s and it doesn’t stop them.
There are many witnesses that say nothing happened.

“No Tila, You cant drive.” So he tried to block her and in her drunken rage and stupor claimed outrageous allogations that he’s trying to harm her because she’s incoherent of the actual situation.
I’ve seen this at PLENTY high school parties when I was young and It’s nothing short of common now, too.

well i am a girl and i have been assaulted by men many times. one time i was influenced by alchohol and beaten. but my bruises were underneath my clothes.
the la cops didn’t care to look at my bruises nor did the hospital. infact the really nice young male cop talked me out of reporting the abuse.
the cops wanted to say i was just drunk. ha ha.
maybe it made an easier night for them, less work or something.
but in tila’s case if there were people there that have not been paid off by the athlete who make credible witness than perhaps the man is innocent.
or perhaps tila just didn’t like the aggressive way the man handled her. though if she was about to drink and drive he could have saved her life. mabye next time he could just be a little less offensive to a tiny petite girl.
i think that all people contradict themselves at one time or another. either way perhaps ms. tequila shouldn’t drink alcohol and party like that.
