Looks like there’s not too much for the New York Police Department to take care of these days because the day after singer Rihanna gave a tattoo illegally at a parlor run by a friend of hers back in July, they slapped the owner of the shop with a hefty fine for allowing an amateur to operate a needle. This information was released today, and while the ticket’s fee has not been released, records show that it could be anywhere between $200 and $2000 dollars.
While I’m apt to complain about concessions being made for celebrities, let’s get real: Rihanna is majorly in to tattoos and is often in the company of artists and has seen a ton of people, including herself, get inked. While it is a crime to allow an unlicensed artist go free with the needle, there’s also far greater crime and safety violations going on in New York City at any given moment. Have we found out who sold the crack to DJ AM yet? I didn’t think so…

Exactly..PLUS it is illegal to tattoo if you are not licensed. It took a LONG time for tattooing to become legal and there are strict regulations for a reason..

this has been my favorite blog for over 2 years. when i first started reading it, Beet was the only writer but seemed to update from early in the morn to later evening. now she posts about once or twice a week, maybe. honestly molls i have a great appreciation for you & wendie. you guys are doing all of the work. i mean ALL of the work. i pretty much like whatever you post…and most of what wendie posts. however, since your on the west coast i have to wait until 2pm for a post. i check back on this site pretty regularly, and it just seems like there are rarely any updates anymore. maybe news is just slow right now. i do check other blogs though, ones that are not any where near as popular as this one, yet they seem to post much more & consistently. i guess i should just stop coming here but i just keep hoping that it’s just temporary and its gonna be back & running the way it was but it doesnt. oh well

At least it seems like you have an issue with the amount of content rather than the quality. A quick way of solving that would be to convince Beet to have someone overseas in a different time zone working so that you can double the content due to a 24 hr presence. Maybe they could outsource to India ?
i never said i wanted updating 24 hours. and no they don’t have to work around MY timetable….how many readers here are from the east coast? a couple posts in the morning would be nice…kind of like how people like to read their newspapers in the morning. they don’t have to do anything im expressing my opinion. all im saying is that for a blog this popular you would think they would get a crew to update pretty frequently. and from past comments i’ve read i’m not the only one that feels this way.
Well, Wendy is from the east coast and updates according to your time zone. Plus, whenever I am back home in NH visiting family and friends I understand if posts aren’t up in the morning if it is a west coasts writer day. I don’t expect them to get up at 3 or stay up late the night before to have something posted by 6 or 7am so I can read it with my morning coffee.
Sometimes I won’t check the night before and, hey!, I get a nice little surprise in the morning with a new post I hadn’t read yet! Stop your whining, it’s a gossip blog not an up to the minute news feed on world events.
If they don’t post enough for you read multiple sites. I do, not because of number of posts but because I like to get different peoples take on things. Each blog I read has its own identity and that is why I keep going back to each of them, even if their content overlaps.

I think some people are taking this blog reading thing way too seriously. First of all, we’re not paying for this. Second of all, the way I read this shit is that every once in a while when I’m bored at work or home and if I have time I wander over to my blog reader and see what people have posted. It’s not like I’m sitting around checking the site ever hour on the hour waiting for another IMPORTANT LIFE-CHANGING NEWS STORY to come out on a GOSSIP web site.
