As we told you yesterday, Playboy model and Brody Jenner’s girlfriend, Jayde Nicole claimed that she was pushed to the ground and then kicked and punched by Girls Gone Wild guy Joe Francis after tossing a drink on him at Hollywood club Guys and Dolls. As it turns out, a Guys and Dolls security camera that recorded the incident has the truth. Francis DID pull her hair, but the extent of his assault was greatly exaggerated. Francis copped to his guilt on TMZ and then went on to clarify the extent of his involvement:

Joe tells us he was hanging out with the General Manager for Guys and Dolls when Jayde Nicole pushed him from behind and poured a drink on him.
Joe says he turned around and pulled her hair in reaction to the attack. Francis says this is the only contact he made with Jayde or Brody the entire time … and security footage from inside the club shows exactly this.
Joe says Brody had punched him and ripped his shirt off. He says the club’s GM then escorted him outside to the parking lot and he lit up a cigarette.
Joe says the next thing he knew, he was on the ground. He was later told Brody had blindsided him.
That’s when Francis says the club’s security tasered Brody.

This is not to say that Francis was right for attacking Jayde back, but I do think that it’s notable that she and Jenner accused him of something he did not do, something that is very much a serious crime.

Grape Glamour

Ivana Trump and her reasonably adorable beau Antonio Zechila went to a winery in France this week to partake in some touristy fun. While she was dressed more for the red carpet more than a grassy vineyard, she gave in and put on the picking gloves she was issued. She did, however, put her ring on over the pink rubber and write “Dior” on them. You have to love someone with such a campy sense of humor.

Molls has done a fantastic job of keeping everyone updated on the death of Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM. I want to weigh in briefly. I know a lot of people are struggling to come to terms with his death right now. I’m one of them. I knew Adam. We weren’t by any means close, but our social circles overlapped when I lived in LA, and I had the pleasure of seeing him every now and again.

I know that in the coverage of his passing, the media is going to focus on the meth pipe in his apartment, and on the prescription drugs, and, of course, on the fact that he died of an overdose. We’ll have to cover the story as it breaks, because that’s what we do around here as a business.

But I want to take at least one post to focus on the man Adam was before this horrible, tragic relapse. He had been committed to sobriety for many years, and he took his recovery seriously. He was active in the recovery community, and he helped many drug addicts and alcoholics as they battled the relentless demons of addiction. This is a man who was out there saving lives every day. He took his own addiction seriously, and he took his own recovery seriously, and perhaps that’s why this is so frustrating for me today. It seems unfair that some people get to abuse drugs for years and years and years, never once trying to clean up their act, and they seem to live forever in spite of it. From what I’ve heard, Adam’s relapse was recent. He slipped and then he didn’t get much of a chance to get back up on his feet. His addiction just kind of swooped in out of nowhere and got him.

I hate the idea of him dying as an addict after all the years he fought and worked so hard to stay clean. I hate the idea that that is how the media might remember him. I hate him dying like this after surviving against such great odds, time and time again. It’s incredibly frustrating, and I’m sad and I’m angry. But I’m using the tiny little podium that I have to remind you guys that, although he ultimately lost the battle with addiction, he really did come at it with both guns blazing. Many others are clean and sober and alive today because of the impact Adam had on their lives. The man brought far more good and beauty into the world than his tragic death would indicate.

RIP, Adam. You are missed.

I was just browsing Twitter and I noticed that Shanna Moakler posted her condolences to DJ AM’s family and friends. At first I thought that her account must have been hacked, but then a spin over to TMZ showed that apparently it’s the awful truth. Adam Goldstein escaped death when he was in a plane crash with drummer Travis Barker last year, but this morning he was found dead in his NYC apartment. Details of the story are still developing, and we will update you with the news as it comes in. In the meantime, our thoughts are with his family and friends.

UPDATE: According to the NY Post, his death could be drug related. This is especially tragic as AM already beat a crack addiction once before.

MORE UPDATES: TMZ is reporting that AM’s friends did not hear from him for several days prior to his body being discovered by NYFD. One friend stopped by to check on him after not hearing back from him and their knocks at the door were not answered. It was then that friends called the police out of concern.

UPDATE 3: Los Angeles club The Viper Room (formerly owned by Johnny Depp) has posted this memorial on their marquee:

UPDATE 4: The Associated Press has now reported DJ AM’s death. That makes it official.

UPDATE 5: According to TMZ, AM was found around 5 PM EST, face down wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt. Next to his body was a crackpipe. Prescription pills were found in the kitchen. What a terribly sad way for a great man to go.

Pretty Awkward in Pink

Normally I love a man in pink. Nothing shows that a guy is more secure in his manhood than a crisp pink dress shirt paired with gray slacks or khakis, but this? This is a bit overkillish. Ashton Kutcher and George Lopez shot scenes for their new flick Valentine’s Day, in which the two pretend to be flower delivery men. I’m not sure if it’s the hue they chose or the sheer amount of it, but something about these costumes leaves me wanting less. Much, much less.

Oh, yay for Jon Gosselin! He’s in love! Or that’s what he’s telling People Magazine, anyway.

What we all thought was a fling with an easy lay turns out to be much more. According to Jon, not only are he and Hailey Glassman “boyfriend and girlfriend”, but he’s now in love with her. He said “I love Hailey. I’ll always love Kate. I went through a whole bunch of pictures today, and it’s sad to see something that was good turn bad but we moved in two different directions. We know that.” And while Kate has seemingly run in to the arms of her bodyguard, a claim she denies, Jon has run into the arms of the extremely questionable Glassman, a woman that I can’t imagine brings much to the table except those horrible Ed Hardy clothes they’re both always wearing.

Perhaps now that he’s added some legitimacy to their relationship by talking about their exclusivity and “love”, they’ll start behaving in a more adult fashion. If he really loves Kate, he’ll remember that they had eight children together that are young and impressionable but still not immune to the horrible press their father has been garnering due to his questionable relationships and extra-curricular activities.
