Forget the touching memorials, we’ve got a nip slip on our hands!

A friendly breeze blew open Kate Moss’ shirt yesterday, exposing her goods to anyone pointing a lens at her praying for such a thing to happen. We’re sure Moss recovered from the Trauma-Rama moment just fine, as it ain’t exactly nothin’ we haven’t seen before. Maybe that’s what you get for partying with Lily Allen in St. Tropez in the first place.

As we told you yesterday, director John Hughes died from a heart attack at the age of 59. The news came as a shock to many, even in this Summer of Death, and now Hollywood is coming out to pay their respects in the best way they know how: public statements made to the press. We’ve rounded up a few of our favorites from People.com.

John Hughes’s iconic films gave a powerful voice to a generation. He will be missed but never forgotten! – Demi Moore

His films helped establish an international notion of ordinary American teenagers, and he was as popular abroad as at home. Once when I was visiting the largest movie theater in Calcutta, I asked if Star Wars had been their most successful American film. No, I was told, it was Baby’s Day Out, a Hughes comedy about a baby wandering through a big city, which played for more than a year. – Robert Ebert

I was a fan of both his work and a fan of him as a person. The world has lost not only a quintessential filmmaker whose influence will be felt for generations, but a great and decent man. – Macaulay Culkin

He was a wonderful man, a genius, a poet. I don’t think anyone has come close to him as being the poet of the youth of America in the postwar period. He was to them what Shakespeare was to the Elizabethan Age. – Ben Stein

While I’ll admit that it’s been a couple years since I’ve rewatched a Hughes classic, watching this clip yesterday reminded me that he has the ability to create some of the whackiest and romantic scenes in movies ever, including this number from “Pretty in Pink”.

Tyra Banks strolled down the streets of New York to the Gossip Girl set yesterday donning a robe, UGG boots and some vintage hair.

I thought of that title because it’s a game I play with my dog, who is also named Leo. I pull down his ears so that they cover his eyes, and then I say “Where is Leo? PEEK-A-BOO!” But unlike a delighted and amused human child, Leo jerks away and then looks at me like “WHAT THE FUCK YOU CRAZY BITCH I CAN’T SEE WHEN YOU DO THAT.”

Anyway.

LeoNARDO was playing peek-a-boo with the paps yesterday, who are chasing him as he’s trying to vacation on the Spanish island of Formentera. I was originally going to title this post “Catch Me If You Can,” but then I realized that I’d like it much better if I could talk about my dog.

I should also say — because I’m asked this all the time — that Leo was not named after Leonardo DiCaprio. He has the name Leo because that was his name at the shelter where I got him. But I will say that my friend’s sister has a cat named Leonardo DiCatio. The same sister just got a chihuahua and named him Justin Bobby. I think someone needs to award this young woman a MacArthur Genius Grant, stat. Just fund her to give people money to let her name their pets. The world would be a much more amusing place.

Listen. It’s been a really shitty summer. Not just in the celebrity world, but it feels like in my own world, among my friends, there have been a slew of sudden deaths and sudden break-ups. Isn’t summer supposed to be about health and love? It’s not feeling like that at all this summer. Is this just me or have your summers been better? I’m personally ready for summer to be over — I feel like I’m limping through August at this point. I feel so drained. I hope autumn brings better tidings.

So I find these pictures of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber bittersweet. They’ve been married eleven years and they still look absolutely in love with each other. They look like they’re loving summer, out with friends on the French Riviera. Maybe summer is less depressing in Europe this year? On one hand, it’s heartening — I’m glad at least some couples are making their marriages last, and happily. On the other hand, it’s depressing — because I’m jealous that they’re having a fantastic summer and I’m sitting at home praying for rain. Either way, they’re both freakishly gorgeous and successful and perfect and I will probably never have anything remotely resembling their lives. What? You wanted me to end this on a happy note? IT IS NOT A HAPPY SUMMER.

Okay, okay, I guess his real name’s Stephen Moyers, but he’s the fanged hottie-pants who plays Sookie Stackhouse’s true love on True Blood. (Which desperately needs to start releasing its season two episodes on iTunes, because I’m almost out of West Wing episodes.) He and Anna Paquin are engaged in real life now. Their reps confirmed the news.

The couple initially started dating after meeting at auditions for the show, but they kept their relationship a secret until this past February because they didn’t want the rest of the cast and crew to feel uncomfortable about it.

“It’s just exciting, and that was there from day one,” Moyer has said. “We always take the piss out of each other and are silly with each other, and it is great. We’re very, very happy. She’s the best.”

Awww, yay for Anna and Stephen! I’m so delighted about this.
